there are like 4(?) sort of time zones in a day : morning -> mid-day -> evening -> night
rest on a bench and wait for proper "morning"
enjoy a long day
And in any other case you have a campsite a stone throw away form the last one
Exactly, Days should be longer than nights, 50/50 spread makes no sense. In the summer/spring (which is the season this game appears to be happening in), the days are longer, the nights are shorter.
That said, I find both lenghts exactly right.
