PSA!!! UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 11 FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE!!
I just needed to let people know in case this works for you as well, I have a 13700k and 7900xtx and at 4k max settings with ray tracing was getting 60-80 frames in the open world and 30 in the towns now I get 144 fps in the open world and I have yet to try the town but im assuming I'll have much better results. This applied to many other games like cs2 that I play as well. I thought I had windows 10 configured to use the proper cores for games but it seems that was not the case and the switch to windows 11 lets me fully utilize my cpu.

Windows OS makes no difference
OP doesn't know Tech much....
Don't call & claim a PSA when there's already a bunch of Tech Videos dissecting the game performance showing OS makes no difference even with CPU/GPU when its the game itself being poorly Optimized and Coded.

I'm going to hold off as long as possible before moving to Windows 11.

I have Win11, and it makes no difference for me. I have a Ryzen 9 5900X and a 4080, and I'm getting crap performance in general.

Same. Windows 11 with a Ryzen 7 5800X and an RX 6700 XT and am frequently sub-60fps and crash frequently.

You're getting better performance, because your CPU is designed to use E-cores. You can't use E cores with Win 10, it's a Win 11 features, but it also requires a specific motherboard chip. Welcome to the new age. Where a 8 core, turns into a 24 core (E cores.) lol.

Windows 11 run both P and E cores more efficiently on Intel based CPU's from, I think, 12th gen onward. It's been advised by Intel to switch to Win 11 since Raptor Lake (13th gen) was announced.

Win 11 is trash, at least on my PC, i don't recommend i had noticeable performance drops.

I played on Linux instead.

You don't have to switch to Windows 11. You can always use Process Lasso to manage your cores. It's a great app, and you can use it freely, though it does remind you to support it every time you launch it. (I'll be registering it when I have the cash, because it's been quite handy.)
Jayz2Cents on YouTube covers it in one of his videos.

Windows 11 has several features that can indeed make your performance better, it also, as an OS , has gotten much better at managing cores compared to win10, and considering DD2 is CPU heavy, then that's good

Windows 11 in general has offered me better performance in several games, so please don't spread misinformation and say it does nothing.

Alternatively if you don't want to leave Windows 10 behind, just use process lasso and figure it out yourself

Right choice

The other day we found out that people reporting missing mouse icons inside Last Epoch were Win 11 users who had updated to latest insider update and had to revert the update to fix (or use programs like yolo mouse to fix)

You're supposed to skip an OS release so its XP -> Vista-> 7 -> 8 -> 10 -> 11 - ?

If you have a 12th gen or newer Intel CPU with P+E cores, then yes, you should upgrade to Win 11, as Win 10 doesn't know about this and will put game threads into the E cores, botching the performance. Alternatively, you can use 3rd party tools to force games to use only the P cores.

Ryzen is fine with Win 10.
