"Load From Last Save" Option Is Suddenly Gone

Like the title says. Only the "Load from Inn" option is available today despite the very intentional manual saves I made last night. When choosing the Inn option, it warns me about using it since it will overwrite my manual save. Okay, where the Hell is my manual save at???

EDIT: Solved by giving Steam.exe and DD2.exe Admin rights and then resetting system. A useful video detailing this fix was also posted on page 2.

Found the manual saves thankfully, dated for last night. Now to figure out how the Hell to get the game to load them. What the actual f...

it deletes your load from last save option to prevent save scumming. it will not appear again until you manual save after loading up your inn save.

to get your info back: with your manual save, copy it out of the folder and make sure its copied as a back up -- outside of the game's save folder. then go into dragons dogma 2, load your inn save, and do a manual save. after that, exit, then copy your old save back into your save folder and it should work.

Well that's not screwed up at all... Thank you for the info though. Currently reinstalling the game, wanted to properly wipe the folder. Pretty sure REFramework pissed it off and triggered the save scum prevention. I did make a backup of my saves immediately after discovering the issue though so I should be able to recover.

It would seem this no longer works. After making a new Manual and then copying my old one over it, the game just triggered the same issue. Thanks for trying though, mate. I'm just gonna have to suck it up and start spending more money on Inns. Can't believe they put such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up system in a fricken single player game.

I am not reloading my save or trying to scum anything. I woke up today after a night of normal gameplay. Fired it up and found my save was gone. Simple as that.

Just happened to me as well,game crashed randomly and now the option is gone,reloaded the inn save, manually saved, backed up to the title screen and "failed to load save data"

Unfortunately I think they screwed us with the last patch and put a stop to whatever save restoration people were pulling off. This is absolutely insane in a single player game. Especially considering it can arbitrarily trigger over some BS like a crash.

It sucks man,i had over 30 something hours of progress,hadn't been experiencing any crashes or anything,one crash my save goes to heck....really frustrating.

Yeah, I just found out Manual saves are just broken now. Period. I can make new Inn saves but any manual saves fail to load. And are subsequently disabled upon restarting the game. I am beyond livid right now, I have no words.

You don't have words, but you have my sympathy. What a crock. Trying to relax and have some fun over the weekend and you get jerked around just like all week long IRL.

I've really been enjoying the game and had great luck so far, but reading all these posts I just feel like I'm being set up instead for the ultimate troll.

Guess I should pre-emptively take up knitting or fly-fishing.

- Same thing happened to me, I have not done any manual back up before but will do it now. Hopefully they are fixing it soon. There will be noise for this bug soon enough...

Sorry it didnt work out for you. Same ♥♥♥♥ happened to me but I managed to get it working. I was hated, too. Almost channeled the controller throwing 13 year old in me.

I finally recovered the ability to use manual saves after doing everything under the sun for nothing. Ended up trying something from a random Redditor. And it fricken worked. All I had to do was give both Steam and the game Admin rights and reset the system. And it worked. I'm not entirely sure what the issue or real fix was ultimately but I am just grateful to have a function game. I did lose about 4 hours of progress but that's a lot less than many of the poor folks getting shafted.
