Does affinity decay?
Originally talked to and gave gifts to Ursula the Oracle regularly until her affinity was maxed (Achievement popped with her)

But after playing for a while I returned to her after not talking to her for a long time and she no longer had rosy cheeks or did the bashful emote. Never did anything near her or to her that would cause a loss of affinity. I talked to her a few times and nothing changed so I gave her some flowers and she went back to the rosy cheek behavior.

Can NPCs lose affinity by simply not interacting with them for a while?

Did you accidentally draw your weapon near her? I don't think they can lose affinity, but it's possible.

It is not supposed to decay.

Nope, she's kind of out of the way of my normal pathing so I literally don't go near her. She's been isolated from me ever since I got her maxed out.

I don't understand how affinity works with NPC. Is there a Gauge telling me how many more points I need to make the npc's affinity increase towards me?

Think you just need to give a gift a day and it'll get to max pretty quickly. Only ways to gauge are initially once they're friendly they'll wave at you when you approach and the next is they blush at max. That's it.

I maxed out Disa's affinity for me early on and when I finally confront her in the story it had dipped again. Only had to give her a bunch of flowers once to get it back though. IDK.

I'm thinking there may be plot points in which certain characters drop affinity either on purpose or as a bug.

I have noted that my pawn stops blushing if I throw them off a cliff to fix the dragonherp. Then it takes a few hot springs visits before they start blushing again

If it's not intended I definitely think it's some sort of bug. Ursula isn't a main character, just some random side NPC that always stands in one spot, so she shouldn't have any triggers when it comes to questlines.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but for anyone still interested affinity does and is supposed to decay. Just had one of those loading screen tool tips pop up saying "If you truly care for someone, you had best not stay away too long, lest their affections begin to fade."

Edited: Realized I had a Printscreen version with the exact quote, but it didn't capture it in steam
