The Story
It might just be me and i hope it is how ever does anyone else find the story less. I find i honestly care so much less for this story then i did org dogma. Even with the nice graphics and all that i just cant seem to care about the story much at all. Was just wondering if anyone felt the same or maybe it is just me.

you're not alone. the story was never the focus w this series really. the original dragons dogma story sucked until like the last 20 minutes of it too. this one is similar lol it's cool at the very very end and meh throughout but the gameplay is fire. #DragonsDogma

If you've played the first game, finish this story. It is worth it.

this one fills out the story with vastly more sidequests that are missable. it's possible to push the game without knowing anything about anyone in the game at all, where it borderline doesn't make any sense.

if you completionist it, it's a lot better. but the main story is the same basic thing that you can guess before you even play it, and you'd get most of it right.

Most importantly, if you actually interact with most of the game, it makes the ending that much more impactful. if you don't, why would the end matter?

DD has never been "about the story" so I find it hard to believe you actually thought DD1's story was remarkable at all.

The real story was the friends (pawns) we made along the way as we jumped into the free like a dangan and fighting giant monsters. Hope we get a Bitterblack Isle grade DLC down the line.

Phaesus was no Elysion, that's for sure. Elysion was a ♥♥♥♥ who pushed your buttons; meanwhile, we only spoke with the masquerade and then met him at the end.

Don't get me wrong, I like the expansion on the necromancy; it is a cool thing... But it would be better to be saved for its own game. Instead, we have a mage who wants to make a dragon to kill the Dragon (thus the red one must be absent from the game, so Phaesus could be mistaken about his size). We have an evil god. We have the red dragon, who no longer want to work for the said god. And we have a political story about reclaiming your throne.

In the end, nothing is given a satisfying conclusion, and the story is a mess, as the developers wanted to use every single plot line they thought was amazing.

The plot of the first game was focused on Grigori; he was an ever-looming shadow, the one who accidentally pushed Elysion into madness. Everything was adding to his picture.
