sucks you cant re-do it with your current save but atleast the reward wasnt something insanely good
Also, as someone who lost her on NG - it's okay to not complete everything at once. That's the point, that's what makes it interesting.
I just loaded my normal save. Could be also that it somehow reloaded while the sphinx battle ended, but resetted back to the last riddle ending, and gave me an unopened chest, so maybe because of that she ignored my hits and the battle didn't trigger the second time.
Aside from completion, the reward is kinda mid. You just use it for getting a different achievement. Lots of incorrect information out there about what that item does, it seems.
Losing everything isn't biggy, as I get to start over without having to wonder if missed stuff in terms of clearing the fog of war, but in DD2 if you go to ng+, the entire map is revealed regardless if you've been there or not,
I even deleted my Phantom Pain save file after playing it from 0 till I capture Quiet, because I missed the yellow mark on the map and it was gone the next time I got back. So third time I captured Quiet only to realize that yellow mark on her cell wasn't some missable thing. (konami saves also are in steam folder, so those got deleted too)
