Now that the game is out, can I free up some harddrive space by deleting the character creator and storage? It's not going to affect the game is it?

You can. The save files created by the character creator are: SS1_data00-1 and SS1_data000 . Located in the same folder of the main game: Steam\userdata\167159944\2054970\remote\win64_save

So as long these are there, the main game will use them in case you choose to restart with the same character/pawn models.
