Drakes are so annoying to fight
Really, I think I've fought something like 15 drakes so far, I've only managed to kill 4 of them because they keep flying away mid fight, even breaking their wings isn't a guarantee to prevent that, people says you have to grab it's tail to prevent it from flying, but most of the time I'm not close enough when it happens, even speedrunning the fight with high damage isn't enough.

Do you have any other tips ? It's so frustrating. :(

personally i use 1 fighter as tank and taunter, and 3 sorcerer with meteoron and just spam meteor like crazy. On bad encounter, i might get silenced, but it can be fixed with potion.

on good encounter, i found a cover to hide and the drake shown his heart very quickly and it turned into well done steak in two 3-sorc synched meteoron cycle.

Also killed lesser dragon the same way.

This. The 4 second shield also helps hugely when they do their AoE attack as it shields the entire party.

I'm playing Spearhand right now, I'm doing a lot of damage with the maistre skill and the stun ability but no matter what, it still find a way to fly away, at this point I'm starting to believe I have bad luck and it's just an rng based condition that keeps hapenning to me

Since I've become a Magic Archer, I've been one shotting drakes with Martyr's Bolt lol

I'm more annoyed by the fact that drakes can die to the brine denying me any loot.

I'm actually considering doing this just to farm them haha.

You should! Gotta rest immediately tho to remove the max HP Debuff.. I always use like 95% of my HP Bar for guaranteed kill

I think, Drakes fly away only if you encounter them outside their spawn zones. If they do fly away try to track em down in their "nest" (spawn area) and resume the fight with them still damaged.

I was definietly able to track down drakes twice already after they had fled. Obviously the same goes for gryphons who flee.

Yeah, the only two drakes that ever flew away for me were drakes that appeared randomly in towns.

Yeah and you realy want to track or ride on gryphon which has lot of health bars to his nest. Or you could look around "foggy are" - that white smoke on map if you find his nest and take things like portcrystal, seeker's token, ferrystone he will come to protect it.
