This style of compact, semi-open but pathway focused, world design feels similar to Gothic to me. Personally I prefer it to more modern open world design which tends to have a lot of empty space in an effort to look bigger than it really is.
The map is much bigger than that of the first game.#
That said, you're right: it seems, there are only two major cities. But there is much more to explore than that. From what I read, there are 50 dungeons on the map. (the first game, just has actually 3. without side-caves and "open-world-dungeons". and excluding shadow fortress.)
BBI is another tipic, however.
Not suprised. They are probably just a Village. Which focuses on being 1 with earth aka hippies. They dont care about expanding their culture.
Was kinda similiar in the lord if the rings. They were just a Village with powerful warriors.
What kind of standard have you !
Did you even really explore, like go to a gryphin nest, explore hidden cave, find the elves town ?
Same here bro, yesterday I reached the mines area and I realized that was all... There's huge black areas in the map that aren't accesible, plus all the ocean... the map is huge but 70% of the map is inaccessible.... and the exploring is so lineal... I mean it is a decent world, it feels full and rich and chaotic, what it is in the game it is well designed, executed and enjoyable... but... the wild marketing about "an open world x4 times bigger than the first one" come on... I expected more from an "open world" in 2024
I've played the game so its not "fine" gtfo with this "it's fine" nonsense. Cringe af
