WARNING: SPOILER: The shadow dragon at the end.
There's two problems with this. First, well done. The acting, the movements, all very well done. Love that. But there's a few hiccups here.

The first transformation. This is clearly a quick "Fade to black" before the shadow dragon avatar is replacing the pawn. This is 2024 here. We can do better then that. This could have been done a bit differently. Shadow mist covering the pawn could have hid the replacement for the shadow dragon itself. Cover the pawn with a big black mist and it can work around having to fade to black screen. It would just need to be big enough to cover the shadow dragon as well. Then dissipate the black mist once the transformation is done. Might require a second or two longer, but small price to pay for some immersion.

If it was JUST that then I might overlook it. But there's ANOTHER hiccup. If the affinity with the pawn is maxed out then they will turn back into being a pawn after attacking the boss dragons heart. BUT, they are then QUICKLY grabbed as the shadow dragon. Despite having very clearly been seen as a pawn only a second or two ago. In what is intended to be a "better" interaction. It's killing the immersion here. The privious situation was at least pausing for a moment with a black screen. But here there's ZERO time. No pausing at all. So how did the pawn have the time to turn back into a shadow dragon again? Without any noise. This has got to be an oversight.

It just doesn't make sense. At least have the pawn make the transformation noise while panning the camera on the player as they turn back and pause for a moment. That or the black mist idea. That would mantain the immersion. It's not even that hard to do if you just reuse the same transformation sound from the first transformation. Camera on player for a few seconds. Look back. Done. NOW it would make sense for the shadow dragon to be grabbed.

It's a nitpick, yes. But little details go a long way. If you've seen the ending yourself (you can youtube it) then you can notice it. And if you didn't know there's a different outcome for the pawn, then now you know. As for rasing their affinity, it seems to have something to do with good camps and taking them to springs and such. Maybe whatever gifts you give them (if you can give them gifts that is). So if you want to try and get the maxed affinity outcome try doing that.
