"A New Godsway" quest.
There is a video on youtube that shows this quest. Title is don't do this quest.
It's trigger something, its point of no return. Don't let Ambrosius to smell 15 wyrmsfart crystal and you are fine.

video starts at 3:13

I think that this quest is a sort of point of no return, at least for me it canceled a quest I had not yet finished, but it was only the one because I had done everything else. But a quest after that one has the real point of no return for the game, but it is quite obvious when it approaches within that specific quest and a character will also "subtly" hint that you should rest before proceeding. Basically telling you to finish up anything you want to before going forth. Hope this answers your question sort of lol

Yeah basically this. Not sure which specific quests fail if you finish "A New Godsway" but after you do the follow up section to this quest and reaching the point where they recommend you take a rest, you're free to clear up anything else you have present on the map. Whatever else might remain for you, be it Maister skill gathering or Sphinx stuff in my case.

The one about a certain oxcart failed for me, so I reloaded at an inn.

You already passed several points of no return for a large variety of side quests.

This is also true lol. There are numerous hidden ones throughout the game, just as with the first.

Oh yeah that one makes sense since they probably want the spellseal door to be closed for that quest, and you end up opening it to proceed into Agamen.
