Are additional save slots just not a thing anymore?
Why do I have to erase my old save data to start a new character?

This was the same crap they pulled on Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode, it's ridiculous how we can't have alt characters in a game I'd want to play more than once.

It works exactly the same way it works in the old game. Its not that they dont want to give us multiple saves. They CANT give us multiple saves without reworking the entire pawn system.

They could make an offline only version of the game mode so people crying about multiple saves could stop. Even though the main gimmick of the title is the online pawn system and the asynchronous online battles (ur-dragon in the first game)

Why do you need multiple save slots / characters?

Add the option to make only one pawn appear on the servers to be selected by other players. easy solution that doesn't require rework of the system

Because I enjoy making and playing as different characters, sometimes I want to play as a male character with my likeness, other times a sexy waifu or a monster, etc.

Hell, my Baldur's Gate 3 and Skyrim have 4 different alts each.

This is exactly my thoughts when I played Street Fighter 6 World Tour as well. Limit us to allow only one Avatar that can be used in online lobbies/battles (if they must) and make any new creations restricted to offline only.

But Capcom doesn't do that! It's really stupid that can't just have two different flags for offline/online characters, instead they just force us to delete one character if we want to make another.

You can change your appearance and your should generally lvl up every class. While I would also prefer to have multiple save slots, that will not happen (same for the first one) but the good news is there is less reason to do it here since again, you really should be playing every class, there are only benefits to doing so. Sticking to only one class is gimping yourself.

I'll just copy/paste what I said from another similar thread:

Their main philosophy is about you having an immersive journey, where you can't save scum your way out situations and you simply deal with the consequences.

Me personally? I just wish they'd let us have SEPARATE characters/pawns and have those characters have their specific save files while keeping the same save situation intact.

Like, let me boot up the game and click "load game" and it lets me select between which character I want to play as. Then simply allow me to load the last save, or the last inn save from that character like normal. I just want to play multiple characters honestly that's my only thing.

Maybe if Capcom sees it from this perspective, they might be willing to do it that way. Then it won't mess up their pawn system too much, as it's basically just as if another player booted the game and made a new character/pawn themselves. Or maybe I'm wrong and it's more complicated than that.

This is how it was since the first game, pawn system or not. At this point you may as well ask Capcom why not just give an additional save file if you wanted to do alt characters. I personally didn't care with the first since new game+ carried over that aside from one-shotting goblins and NPC relationships giving me a bunch of a different people feeling for whatever character I ran, I pretty much would make the run with whatever look I wanted and only BBI being a place that actually was a challenge. If anything, I'd just go with altering appearances if I wanted to play as something else regardless of progress.

Damn love tik tok fortnite generation mentality
you want to switch char you got 99 damn chance to do that
class same deal.
And as i have say before people shouldnt be abble to play that game if they have not at least got 20 achievement on the first game.

bro you're just yapping lol

The character creator book doesn't let you save your characters as presets you know this right? you'd still have to slide every individual slider to make the character look EXACTLY the way you want them to...EVERY...SINGLE...TIME. Let me know how much fun you'd have recreating a character each time you wanted to switch it up.
