No mounts...it's on purpose. It was known from the get-go that there were no mounts.
Fast travel is limited. That, too, is on purpose. It was known from the get-go that there was limited fast travel.
They want you to explore. They want you to go off the beaten path to find things. No mounts helps convey how big the map is.
I like it this way.
When you fight one, you would grab onto it - then once on, you crawl to it's back as it cannot just toss you off. Then - depending on everything else going on - it may fly away.
Do note - this may be a one-way trip however as it also is very dependent on your stamina bar...
You can ride wild animals , doesnt mean you can tame them.
Ridin them a while as they spaz out.
