This game is CPU limited? So a 7800x3d is fine?
From what I've seen from "official" performance reviews it scales comically well with better CPUs, Looking at graphs future CPUs will give linear scaling improvements....

So for fellow 7800X3D users, how is the performance for you? I've got a 6800 XT (♥♥♥♥, I know) but don't intend to use ray tracing. It looks like CPU is the main culprit?

I still become CPU limited in the cities with 7800X3D, so GPU utilisation is much lower as even the 7800X3D becomes the limiting factor. Outside of cities however its fine.

I have a 7800x3d and a 4070. I play on a 1440p monitor. In the open world areas of the game I get 110-120fps(i capped the fps at 120 so I imagine it could go higher had I not done that).

In the villages/towns in the game the fps drops down to the 70-90 range, usually staying more towards the 90 side.

In the capital city though...30-80 and doesn't stay on either side of the spectrum either, every second it swings back and forth and this causes horrible stuttering(to the point I was getting motion sickness while playing which I've never had happen in any game before).

I have a 7800x3d, 32gb ddr5 ram and a 4080 super, cities especially the main hub you first encounter is very cpu heavy, even with my setup i struggled for fps with DLSS on (but that's because its DLSS 2 not 3.5)
You'll also get frequent npc pop-ins, the city holds about 100 npcs

Would this be with or without DLSS? 6800XT is very similar to the 4070, so I should hopefully get similar fps

It’s still bad in towns. I have the cpu and game drops massive in towns and has really bad micro stutters. But outside town where you will fight, it’s ok

my 7800x3d is @60% load in the capitol city, my GPU (3080) is @70% load. the game engine itself is the culprit.

Threadripper it is then.

I have had zero issues on my 7800x3d paired with a 7900XT. Around 90-100 fps outside cities and 60 fps in cities. 1440p max settings RT on. FSR off. I'm assuming I would get better FPS with an Nvidia card.

7800X3D is not good enough.

I have a 7950X3D and cities struggle. Open World I can hit 90+fps but in cities i go down to 45-60.

Paired with a 3080Ti, 3440x1440.

7950 gets better frames on CC0 alone than CC0-CC1.

Threadripper it is not.

Ah, I see. Thank you for pointing out the erroneous part of my JOKE.

With the latest patch, the lowest I've had in the big city is 54 fps. I am also pretty gpu limited with a 2080ti at 1440p. I get mostly 60fps with some occasional dips, which again, I believe is GPU related outside of the city with DLSS. I think 6800xt is around or better than 2080ti? I think you should have a largely good experience while using upscaling (FSR).

Legitimate question my friend, with a Ryzen CPU I'd also have concerns.
Short answer - no, better buy Intel.
