Game is too easy
Is it just me or does the game feel like missing any challenge combat wise? I thought game would become harder over time but it feels like it was easy at the beginning and is starting to get even easier! Big sad for me...

"These days"? Games were even harder "back then".

I guess not everyone likes to go into the ring and beat a 6-years-old dude again and again just to feel "powerful", my dude.

Game is easy as ♥♥♥♥ man. With all the tedious traveling I was eating Drake's lunch while hiding behind a rock and making my own, actual lunch in real life. Didn't feel powerful to me, felt boring and tedious. So yeah I'm with you on that part.

You're progressing and feeling that progression. First game had the same problem and they "Somewhat" fixed it with hard mode/BBI. However, you scale really high in DD, so you will eventually wipe the floor with whatever is put infront of you. There are some mods on the nexus that can prolong the fights, but the result will be the same 10-30 seconds later.

The combat is hands down the easiest part of the game.

The travel, questing, inventory management, performance, and Sphinx are excruciating.

Game ramps up a bit later on, but generally unless you are heavily underleveled for an enemy and any hit one shots you they cap at "challenging". Unless you do something stupid. Like standing on a dragon's back when it takes flight

I mean, they aren't wrong though. One of the main complaints about this game is that it is "Easy" which the first game was the exact same in terms of difficulty. You start off weak, you scale quickly in your chosen profession, you proceed to wipe the floor with whatever crosses your path.

The difference is, the first game had builds specifically designed to your chosen vocations. Wanna build a sorc? Build a mage into a sorc. In DD2, it is play what you like, swap how you like and I personally like that system more.

I love that I've maxed thief/fighter and almost warrior and it allows me to just have tons of fun. I proceed to baseball bat swing mobs away from me with charged heavy hits, or run them through with a sword before tossing them off into the distance. It's just fun, not neccessarily hard, but I can MAKE it harder by simply using inferior equipment. All up to you really.

In the future they will likely change the way adaptive difficulty works and add scaling to the mix, but as of right now, it's just more encounters tmk.

I'm just a simple human being. I don't want to cripple myself by using worse gear or stop leveling up just to have a challenge. Human brains work the other way around: getting as good as you can in order to beat others - and while getting better and better and facing challenges, you feel challenged.

There are even illnesses that can affect humans if they for example feel unchallenged in their jobs. So this is nothing new. Lets not start acting like this is sth new. Guess my biggest problem is that I'm a human being. No hate...
The first game was also easy until BBI was a thing. After level 100 BBI is also easy which is why mods like Dogmatic exist.

This game will be no different.

At least good to know that there are mods out there fixing the difficulty. I diddn't know!

I predicted this. DD1 was way too easy. Of course this would be too.

It depends a lot on what vocations/skills/gear/party you have. I've died a number of times (less so recently), and still can't reliably kill a gryphon before it flees. Never killed a drake yet (they either insta-squish my party, or fly away with most health still left). But, then, I'm only level 30ish.

(and then different people, depending on the games they play/etc, have different skill levels. Just because the game is trivial to you, and you therefore say "Everyone wants games super easy so they feel power fantasy!", doesn't mean everyone else is finding the game as easy as you are.)

I've done Archer, Fighter, and I'm halfway through leveling Mage (which feels really slow & awful so far. Gotta get those augments unlocked so I can get away from this vocation. Also using it for levitation at the moment.) Fighter felt weaker than Archer, which wasn't particularly powerful. /shrug

Okay, and how much of the time do these encounters take up? like 1%, maybe. Regular fights should be somewhat of a challenge too, or it gets boring.

My biggest gripe is there is no level scaling when you go 2th play-through after the ending, it feels like a walking in the park, mobs are literally melting lol.

Well walking out of battahl was red wolves/high level bandits, a griffin and a golem. Knackers were right down the road and then a series of undead knights. So they happen more often than ya think.
