Passing over pawn's knowledge to a fresh new game?
Question. As you might know, in DD1 it was possible - tho it seems more like a nice bug/exploit than a feature - to pass all the accumulated quest/monster/location knowledge of your pawn from your current play-through to a fresh new game (the one that deletes your current save and starts over) by having your pawn hired by someone when you started a new save and releasing her afterwards - after sleeping it would show up as if she gathered TONS of new knowledge from just this last hire, most of which is actually your own.

That apparently gives you a shadowban for 24 hrs, but definitely not permanent since I did it countless times over my 1000+ hrs in DDDA and got many hires, even got to monthly leaderboard few times.

Does it still work in DD2? Yeah I'm aware of current absence of new game button, planning on doing that manually unless capcom announces the date of the patch that will bring it back. Somewhere I've read that shadowbans are still a thing and apparently it keeps it until pawn data matches the ones on their servers - meaning reverting back to the original save file?

So, is it possible to do this in DD2 and would it not result in a permanent shadowban? Anyone tried already?

No way to know. I've seen some pawns that looked like cheats. Level 23 all skills maxed.

Yep, seen those as well. I guess if these exist and "legit", my simple starting over shouldn't be shadowbanned...

Tbh also hard to test it with the overall knowledge, 1 had a clear list of every single type of enemy, here its just badges for the big ones. I guess I gotta test it...

Ok I tested this with the new patch that allows to start a new game without any trickery and while my friends didn't release my old pawn yet, I think it doesnt work because in a new game my pawn has different ID. So I guess there are two instances of her now? Or old one would be gone once released? But I suppose I won't get any RC or experience from her...

That being said, pls hire my new pawn, I want to recover lost likes and knowledge, she's pretty :P

Definitely cheats. No way you can have all the badges at level 23 - Purely because the XP dropped by those kills required would catapult you into the high 70's at the very least. Just kill the early game monsters, the ogres, the cyclops and the griffins would be enough to make level 30 or so.

So, now I can safely confirm that starting a new game means creating A NEW PAWN in the system, while the old one remains and can still be hired by anyone, just doesn't update.

I can even hire her myself! But I dont have 7500 RC...

Check it out:
old: 2QR3GLEDB2E3
new: NDT5E5QI29QA

P.S. Pls hire my new one, I need to rebuild likes and hearts :')
