How to escape grab attacks?

Title is pretty much self explanatory. How do I escape grab attacks by wolves ogres ect.? It is infuriating being grabbed by a fckn wolf and dragged around without being able to do aynthing about it, I can't stab it, I can't use magic, how do I escape these?

im not shure if its an oversight, but i have yet to see any "escape" promt or method, it was in DD1. i want to solo this ♥♥♥♥ so bad!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I just pressed everything on my controller and prayed it was doing something lol

The wolf drag is really painful and lowkey makes me feel stupid lol

the novelty of pawns wears realy thin, after a couple of days, even on mute. if we cant have proper multiplayer co-op atleast let us solo it,by letting us escape, if you get grabbed, thats it. its done, game over. id even settle for the "wiggle the stick" DD1 has. or an "press X" rappidly"

The game specifically says in the Tips section that you "...can expend stamina to escape."

I know this is true because I have escaped holds and crawls by repeatedly pressing the sprint button.

for all their talk of imersion, realising there is no option to escape or to go solo near breaks it for me. you get tired of babysitting the dumb "AI" after awhile.

but there is not telling you how is the problem. in DD1 you had an on screen prompt that told you what to press, in this there is nothing. a grab by most mobs means GG and for others you take so much damage to put you close to death just to be followed up with a VERY slow get up animation.

also the "help me" command does nothing. ive spammed this while being grabbed and only had my pawns just stare at me or start to cast heal. i hated the old system but i would much prefer it over this garbage!

BUT THERE IS NO PROMPT!!! People need onscreen prompts or they forget that they've played vidrogames all their lives.

yes, you do in fact need prompts in do or die situations, thats why you have CLEAR and LARGE and LOUD, instructions when you evacuate buildings and ships etc etc, and on cruiseships and oilrigs they driill the crew weekly, and no not everyone is a sweaty hardcore gamer. The escape mechanic is different every game, Thats not an excuse to NOT have a promt. sometimes is "tap x" repeatedly sometimes wiggle the tumbstic left and right, sometimes its wiggle it up and down, if not a prompt for what ever reason, give us atleast a progression bar so i can tell what im doing is working.

EDIT: i hope your right about the escape mecanic, i have yet to try it out as of writing. Now see, if there only was a "prompt" we wouldnt have had this conversation, XD
