The Sphinx flew away after being shot with the arrow of death and did not drop anything

After solving the last riddle, I started a fight with the Sphinx, took the arrow from the chest (the memory riddle was the last one), equipped it and shot at the Sphinx. The Sphinx said smth and flew away. Is this a bug, or does the arrow of death not actually kill the creature, but just cause a lot of damage?

If you've solved all the riddles the final riddle is where to attack her so she doesn't just fly away. Attack everything but the head and chest I believe. The jar riddle you did shows a picture of scars all over her body where the jewelry is and none on her face.

She wont die if you shoot her in the face. (Simply shoot her in the side)

Or kill her without the arrow. Just make sure you dont hit her in the face - then she will fly away.

You have to shoot that special arrow to its wings, if you shoot it to somewhere else it wont work. Reward item is just 10k gold and stupid one-time consumable item that AoE resurrecting NPC corpses around you. Its not really important. If you care the achivements etc. just roll back your save than shoot it to wings.

Don't directly shoot it. First shoot regular attack it will trigger dialogue than boss fight will start, keep running and avoid its first attack, than equip that special arrow and shoot it to its wing, IT doesn't required to be fully charged. just shoot a weak regular shot than it will die.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your answers. Of course, I played on a PC with a mouse and keyboard, so the habit of shooting in the head prevailed over me) Anyway, I'm glad I didn't lose much. Considering the time spent on the solutions, I expected something more from the last chest.

It also kind of bugged for me too. First time I messed up and shot her in the face. But on the new game plus I actually tried to do it normally. I defeated her using normal weapons (I am level 71 with Unmoored world weapons maxed) without touching her human parts, she still did same dialogue and flew away. I reloaded from an inn started again, taking 2 unmaking arrows with me, shot her in the butt 2 times, once in the beggining and after in the wings, it took one healthbar each, but still ended up with the same result, I drowned my pawns so they woudn't ♥♥♥♥ up....it's kind of sad as I am 70 hours in and I am not starting the game over for her again.
