Find Rodge timed quest is stupid
There was a specific yellow area on the map after talking to people to find out where he might be. I placed a marker there and went to that area. I have gone all over the place looking for him an he is nowhere to be found. Now it says no destination. Now I see the quest is timed. That's just dumb. Why bother giving a quest if you remove the marker and he is nowhere in sight?

Also, if you have a pawn with Priority Quest knowledge with that quest selected, they may lead you right to him...possibly. I don't know if the AI would take you to the clue finding area or the boy. That would have to be tested.

had a pawn who had knowledge, they take you to the field then go brain dead for you to figure it out.

Reviving this post as it get's even worse.

I found the little ♥♥♥♥ and I went all the way back to town to talk to Morris. Nowhere did it say I have to escort the ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Now I read a Reddit post with tons of people saying the quest is bugged. Apparently now I have to go all the way back to the cave to hold this boys hand all the way back to town. Ridiculous.
The problem with the quest is that the trail of glowing flowers you're supposed to follow is WAY too long, so you end up feeling like you're going the wrong way. I kept following it, and found the kid alive, but it's a stupid quest.

Unless i missed something, It doesn't make sense. The kid's collecting flowers, but there's no reason the wolves would be at the end of the trail. A single cluster of flowers contains more than enough, he wouldn't need to venture far from the cemetery. Wolves dragged a child on a cross country tour, several people saw it and did nothing. The kid should be dead by the time anyone in town arrives to tell you.

Instead of flowers, the quest should be following wolf tracks.

anyways the premise of the quest is painfully dumb, a child doesn't get 'abducted' by wolves, a child gets attacked, killed, and eaten by wolves on the spot

This. Also that spot he collects flowers is often attacked by Griffins and undead. So... yeah. Rodge really should be dead years before you became Arisen.

Its a painful quest, and forced upon you when you reach checkpoint town. Google the location of putrid cave. He’s a slight distance further. The stupid moonglows don’t really lead you there.
Yeah, this. Extra fun if you started this quest during the day, since there's no indication of how much time you have to complete the quest. I didn't want to wait for night time when the kid could be getting eaten right now, so I looked for the flowers during the day. If I can't see the next patch of flowers from the current patch of flowers, how the heck is that a trail?

I searched the town 3 times over, and finally a woman appeared and talked to my of her own volition. I was furious cause she wasn't there before.
Exact same thing happened to me.

That would make sense, but this isn't designed for you to be using your brain that much.

Ultimately, you didn't finish the quest. So what?

There are tons of quests I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up for one reason or another. The griffin sculpture one comes to mind. You deal with the consequences of your actions, and if you REALLY wanna make it right or see the difference had you done a better job, there's NG+ for that.
Yeah; I'm 90% sure they hired a first year student as an intern to design their quests since they knew they could copy/paste the mechanics from the first game and people (and this includes my dumb ass) would buy it. I have actually never seen or played a game with worse quest design. It's unforgivably bad haha

There's a fetch quest where you have to get some kind of coal...they don't tell you how much to get. You just have to hope you got enough and if you didn't...you have to go back to get more. I hope the writers got canned ngl If you can't even write fetch quests properly you shouldn't be allowed to work on anything but personal projects.

except that is precisely what they do.

But they don't because there are moonglow flowers that you can pick up as a material so the "petals" aren't obvious as a trail. Just looks like another plant you can pick up as a crafting material.

Lmao cope harder, I did the quest by following them, took me right to him, literally.
Went to the first marker, fought a lich, picked moonglow, thought "huh, that's odd. Why are some scattered across the floor" and followed them. Very organic, I loved it.

It's okay you couldn't figure it out, but don't pretend like the signs weren't there.

Should be recognized that you're not following the trail of moonglow, you're just following the literal trail on your minimap. Unless you're doing it at night (I assume), you're following a path that scatters around a small cemetary, and then ends at a locked gate. You have to cross a bridge to get to the cave, and the path into the cave isn't clear, either.

If there wasn't an actual foot path there to keep walking down, you would probably assume you went too far at some point, since no part of the quest makes actual sense.

Surprised there aren't more complaints about the escort back, since it's obvious padding.
