I also just did the "flowerbed" lead and he got eaten
Worry not, game is built around NG+ there will be a lot more you'll miss or screw up the first time at the game, rewards are not even usually that bad for a "mid" outcome
They literally lead you right to the doorstep. Not the games fault you can't follow literal glowing breadcrumbs. RIP Rodger
anyways the premise of the quest is painfully dumb, a child doesn't get 'abducted' by wolves, a child gets attacked, killed, and eaten by wolves on the spot
I'm all for "not having giant exclamation points over their head". But give us verbal clues at least, not just "talk to every person in town".
At least go "there was a woman in a white workers dress who knew about him".
This is just lazy writing imo.
Just follow the trail and it will lead to the kid.
TL;DR
Listen to NPCs and use your brain. He was collecting flowers but was taken by wolves. Follow the flower petal piles
So if you wait till night and run east to the grave yard area, you will see a trail of flowers leading you there. I almost panicked and thought I wouldn't figure it out until I was wandering around looking at the grave yard area and it turned dark and the petals started to glow.
Also, if you have a pawn with Priority Quest knowledge with that quest selected, they may lead you right to him...possibly. I don't know if the AI would take you to the clue finding area or the boy. That would have to be tested.
Nah - the "timed" aspect is fortunately not that restricted; is more like "do this quest and no other one now" (at least for me - I slept like 2 times). Went in the first time (late afternoon) and found the initial flower area after the cave/bandit harpy hallway, and spent the rest of the day looking.
At night, a Wight spawned, so I fought that, then went back to town to rest. Went back, and checked the rest of the area out (down to where the graves are), and then fought an Ogre. Then I went back/rest/returned and kept going and he was alive still. Believe I also spent a whole day just double checking both paths before going to the other side of the broken bridge to look there, fought some random skeletons or whatever, then headed back to sleep.
Once your close though - they start to attack him, so that's when your screwed over for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around.
