Wayfarer is neat in theory, but pretty bad in practice?
You only have 4 skill slots, but one is basically reserved for the weapon switch skill (unless you love menuing). And all the skill sets for every other class get to share the remaining 3 slots. I feel like 4 is too few for a lot of the other classes as is. But all of them over 3 or 4?

I ended up just using archer/warrior w/ a staff in the inventory. I menued over to it only for the hover. I guess you could have elemental weapons? But you can do that with your own class.

I really like the idea... but I thought the weapon swap skill would be always accessible without taking a slot, like Anodyne or Galvanize or quickspell. And I thought each individual class would have its own 3-4 slots. Isn't that obvious? Why do the devs think this was a good idea?

Just...it's bad. Am I missing something incredible? Why would you use this for besides Seeker Token/chest searching (with mage hover and thief double jump skill)?

Good for you. With DD1 I reached 900 hours on different platforms. I'm at about 90 hours on DD2, and I'm not really satisfied playing, the vocations are too limited.

"vocations are too limited"

Yea because theif, mage, archer, and fighter are actual full vocations now.

Maybe the concept of fun is not clear? a hybrid vocation can be more fun and can entertain players much more. Balancing? This game is just easy and boring to play. Fixing Warfarer means I'll be coming back to play the DLC in the future. Those who want a non-hybrid class can choose and not lose anything. It's a single player. 💪🏻

I use it to level all vocations at once, but yes the fact that you only get 3 skills is a bad design, rearm should switch the 3 other skills.

Also you cannot use master skills btw. I assume the only reason to play Wayfarer is to enable certain "broken" skill combinations or synergies that wouldn't be possible without it.

It's also just flexibility. What weapon kills trash mobs the best? Well when there are trash mobs around, I'll switch to that weapon and use the skill that's best for clearing trash mobs. Boss? I'll switch to the weapon that's best at killing bosses and use the best skill for killing bosses. A harpy? I'll switch to a bow and shoot it. Phantasm? Just switch to a staff and use that for a minute.

You can play Magic Archer so you have all 4 you count. Add clear, boss damage, harpys and phatasm

Golems, then.

I don't think magick archer has anything comparable to skull splitter for boss killing either.

The ice seekers are slower but safer boss killers, absolutely dunk on Drakes just spamming that one attack

Its got access to some stupid combos, like helmsplitter and flare all in one. Its also like 90% of every class put together into a single transmog machine.

Its better if you dont use a third weapon and focus on primarily 1 weapon type, with one skill to hold it all together.

Its mostly just a vocationless vocation that CAN be very good by condensing a squads combo into a single entity and then freeing up the pawns to do other things. Of course, there is the benefit of being able to be a full sorcerer/mage in heavy armor.

The maister skill can one shot everything in the game provided you eat enough of your health to do so.

Yeah it's not worth it at all, why risk all that when the ice seekers can do the same without any risk for the reward

Same with Skull Splitter and Blades of Pyre, the self damage or using another ability to counteract it is just not worth it compared to keeping it simple

It would've been cool to make it more like Assasin from DD1. Maybe the rearmment would be their maister skill which would work as a skill revolver based on the weapon you switched to. The restriction could be that you would limited to the first level of the skils and that until you unlock the maister skill you would have to manually change weapons and share the 4 skill slots between the weapons you chose.

It's only viable end game when you have the best weapons, gear and high stats. It's a meme vocation.

I wish we can use Meister skills :(

I like the Wayfarer class, but I'm a fan of the Fighter Vocation so I actually don't pay too much attention to it.

What I would have preferred if you equip a weapon and switch to that class the skills you choose when just playing that class would be listed. I have a bow equipped now all 4 archers skills would show. I switch to daggers, thief skills would show etc.
