Secret Cave Ancient Battlegrounds

So, I am using the thief weapons that glow when near treasure. At the West entrance of the Ancient Battlegrounds under the small ballista (where the drake and cyclops are fighting) there is a boulder blocked cave that has treasure and leaper monsters. My Pawns say "this is something that is beyond our power" or something to that effect. I have fired 10 ballista bolts at the rocks but nothing destroys the wall. Has anyone else discovered this and how to destroy the wall?

You need use balista on top of castle wall to break trough from other side

There's a catapult by the path on the north side that you can load boulders into
