This game has more free world content.
The first game and the 2nd game are equally easy without the end game content (Hence the complaints.)
But definitely less after all additions, pathes, etc. Much less than Dark Arisen for now.
I am surprised we don't have something like Ur Dragon here. Really disappointed.
Fingers crossed something like Ur Dragon and Bitterblack Isle will be added later.
Dragons Dogma was a lot smaller before the Dark Arisen expansion.
DDII is closer to DD pre Dark Arisen
100%.
They likely didn't make this with the intent on not updating it.
considering DD was at one point a well-supported MMO which got sh!tcanned and they made the second game, we can probably expect some content to come into the game free like how MH adds monsters, but that's my least confident (note: not necessary unlikely) prediction
we can also reasonably expect an expansion like Dark Arisen to come in 6months or more
According to leaks there's a "Tale of the Dragon Princess" DLC coming in 6-7 months after release that'll act as this game's BBI / Dark Arisen content.
DD1 is one of my favorite games but I don't get the rose tinted glasses regarding the game. The reason why the game didn't reach wider audiences was because of its low quality, rushed development and literally half the game missing.
If you remove BBI, the base game is very small, the enemy variety was far worse and the signature large enemies the game was known for were barely in the game. It was like a single griffon, hydra and cockatrice; 1 spawn location for a drake, 2 spawns for a golem, 3 for chimeras, 2 for ogres and a handful of cyclopses. That was the entire map.
More basic enemy variety with more varied tactics and weaknesses. More large enemy types even if there's overlap, you're actually given time to explore the harder, completely changed world, six skill slots instead of four with more useful skills to compete over those slots (except for Warrior, F), more spell variety, more gear and fashion variety, better (English) voice acting, better character creator which produces much more varied results while retaining good looks (which leads to wider diversity and variety of online pawns), higher variation in height and weight due to char creator leads to more gameplay variation and depth, more in-depth gearing with more slots to manage resistances and such with allowing for more player choice, far better music, better SFX, actually having a dark fantasy artstyle instead of "muh realism" wankery, more interesting personal quests for the characters that do have them. There's a lot of reasons besides just the monsters I say that DD1 is of higher quality.
