Masquerade Quest Broken?

HELP! I've acquired the clothes and mask then enter the masquerade party. I talked to everyone and no sign of the false soveran, so I think maybe i'm supposed to take my mask off as this one guy acts like he knows me... so maybe i need to reveal myself to him. I take my mask off and then get attacked by all the guards and end up in prison. I use a key to get myself out that I just happened to have.. i climb to the top of the stairs and whew get all my gear back. I go back to the masquerade and get attacked immediately even while wearing a mask. So i'm guessing I broke this quest now and I can no longer go back to a differrent save? 13 hours in.... not cool... might be the end of my Dragon's Dogma 2 experience. I guess that is why the game is bombing..... well there is $70 wasted... unless there is some sort of fix or something I can do now that i've screwed up and did something the game didn't expect. Maybe they should have BETA tested their quests before releasing the game? Or give a new quest I can do in order to complete or get past this... no idea... i'm open to ideas or suggestions. Anyone else have this happen to them?

There is a hidden door in the building, which you missed :D
When you enter the Main building, go to the left, you should see a passage on the minimap. Sometimes an NPC will even open the doors.

there's a fake wall in the back between the two rooms. That said, I heard there are ways to cool off guards "aggro", try searching up on the forums.

I can't I get attacked immediately now when I walk in the main building. :-(

Also never saw a fake wall or hidden door. I walked around for 15 minutes.. nothing showed up. No passage on the mini map either. I assume it was bugged for me. Also if that was the case there should have been clear indication that I was looking for a hidden door. I appreciate the lake of hand holding, but we can't expect to read the minds of the developer. There should have been a clue about this hidden door in other words. Bad design decision here!

Thanks for offering help guys, but my game is glitched up now.. all because of a glitch or the fact that I didn't do what I was supposed to do... So dumb... .sucks this game isn't finished and didn't have more beta testing before releasing.

Do you have the mask and the right outfit?

I had the same issue, thought it was glitched but I just had to rest until nightfall and attend the masquerade again, the door will be unlocked only at the party.

They showed a cutscene of him walking towards the back. Not finding anything back there was all the hint I needed to start looking for secret doors. There's no marker, but all you need to do is push against the wall.

Make sure you're wearing the mask and courtly outfit next time you visit. Just go another night the masquerade is happening if you messed it up the first time.

So funny thing, I never found that hidden path. I wondered into the next quest flag by mistake. So you don't necessarily need to follow the intended path to complete the quest.

For those wondering, I just roamed randomly into the brothel after being given the card from another quest and just happened to trigger the scene for being there.
