Seafloor shrine

is it only me or seafloor shrine is the old gransoren castle the more i explore there the more it looks like the castle

To be honest I think it is. I also felt it had a couple of similarities especially a corridor leading to a room I swear was the princess room in the first game which made it feel creepy. It gave me the creepy feeling I got reaching Anor Londo in dark souls 3.

Interesting, I never thought of this. I will definitely have to check out the layout more

It's not just you. It definitely is. the layout is identical, and some of the details for those that played 1 will recognize. Not just the jail where you first arrive, but when you get up to the foyer, if you head outside first, you should recognize the steps down and the gate ahead. If you go through the throne room and turn right to go around the balcony you can get to the duke's solar and balcony as well. And then of course the way out is up the tower through the duchess's bedchamber.

The only errors I could see, if you could call it that, was no doors on the right side of the castle throne room... so no hall to the treasury, and neither of the side chambers on the second floor. I think it's simple enough to overlook that given the state of the castle as a whole.
