Pawns not attacking:
Anyone having this issue?

All of a sudden not a single pawn in my party will attack enemies or use any offensive spells.

double check that you don't have them on the wait command, otherwise maybe it's that dragonplauge stuff? if it persists through reload and for a bit longer, get rid of your hired ones and toss your main one in the water.

Pawn inclination as well.

Only Straight Forward pawn will attack without you commanding it or they are attacked.

Watch out for the Dragon plague. These one of the symptoms.

Dragon plage effect

I'm pretty sure it's a bug. They don't have Dragonplague - there are no other symptoms. All dialogue etc. is normal, their appearance is the same, no glowy eyes. And it's the same with any pawn that I hire.

The AI just seems to have broken. Sometimes they just stand around in random places, sometimes they stay about 30m away from me and run in random directions when I approach. They will just stand looking at enemies and get bashed to death - fighters will spam shield drum, warriors will spam roar, Mages will still heal but poorly. The rest just walk around, no matter what. In a fight, in the open, whatever it is they all just seem totally braindead.

It's making the game quite difficult.

Why do people keep questioning clear questions with "check to see if its plugged in" answers? I'm having same problem, pawns just are simply useless in DD2. They wont attack, they wont heal, inclinations don't matter, they just run around in circles. There are not nearly enough way to command your pawns either, I want a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stab that thing that's punching you in the face" button. You tell them to come to me, they wont. They take 2 steps towards you, then walk off. "help me" doesn't do anything, they'll keep attacking the giant monster instead of the pack of wolves mauling you.

Pawns just need a complete overhaul, from the ground up.

Hitting "3" (help) on keyboard, don´t know with controler, let´s them spam defense abilities, i use it when the healer should heal me but doesn´t bother to. ^^
But yeah. they aren´t that clever in the first place... so "weird" behavior seems to be normal.

I'm having this problem now, but ONLY with oozes. Everything else, no problem. My Arisen is literally in the middle of the ooze getting sucked dry, I'm spamming 1 to have them attack and 3 for help, hoping they'll get the idea, but nooooo! They're in fight mode - circling, dodging, Shield Drumming, commenting for me to avoid flames because I'm doused in oil... everything BUT attacking.

I have had this happen as well. For me it got fixed when I restarted the game. And no commanding them to “Help” or anything else didn’t work either. Sometimes they logic seems to just break
Yeah my fighter started doing this lately. Don't know what's the cause but the AI will just give out sometimes and refuse to function in combat. Usually happens against boss foes for me.

Because working in retail or IT has made us lose our faith in humanity with how many times people report problems and its something simple like "you dont have it plugged in" or to make it more specific to this "you have the pawns on wait command".

Same , I was fighting a Bull monster and all 3 of my pawns were just circling the thing not attacking it. My main pawn a thief was using the grappling hook on it but that does nothing unless its staggered. The fighter was not doing anything at all and the mage was using heal on herself non stop. I did try to order it to attack but it didnt help. I had to kill it on my own basically but since I was the only one doing damage it agroed to me and let me tell you, a sorcerer is not supposed to solo boss monsters.

yep.

Sometimes it's the simplest answer that's the cure- and as you've seen, they'll get annoyed with you for simply saying that. It's all ego.

Just be sure your Pawn or the Pawn you hired are equiped with the weapon.

I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I have this problem when the battle goes on for a while. I use a hard mode mod so battles against larger enemies tend to take a while (or a few seconds if I'm not careful). Sometimes the pawns will act as though they are on the "Wait" command during battle. No clue what causes it and it makes the battle un-winnable since I play a Trickster exclusively.

Hasn't happened in a while but I'm always ready to just simply run away when that happens.

Louder for the people in the back!
