Dragon/wyrm fleeing

How do you stop it? I tried FIVE TIMES and there's absolutely nothing to prevent it?

After you defeat them a number of times they should start fighting to the death, for me the 5th time the dragon stayed to fight me all the way.
EDIT: I think it might have something to do with your level perhaps.

Lvl 35 and I destroy it into oblivion. If what you say is a feature, this game really is worse than I thought, so much for farming. Between this annoying thing and ambushes f**ing up your camp and preventing you from sleeping, this is just unbearable.

I also heard that damaging their wings prevents them from fleeing, just like igniting a griffin's feathers.

You have to put tears in their wings.

attack the wings until they are visibly damaged

Also Warrior BIG WACK does good keeping them knocked over but only if your have the DPS in the party to melt them health bars fast enough to repeat the stagger

Obviously not very widely applicable, but I was able to just shoot one to death with a ballista and it made no attempt to run away or leave or do much of anything except wait to be shot to death.

Yeah if they are far enough away and have trouble pathing they sometimes do that. worked once at the acaint battlefield for me but since have not able to repeat it.

Early game yes, but late game Drakes have way too much HP to kill with Ballista at that point, and it's a waste of effort to try in the Volcanic region because the damage takes forever with those, and Drake will cast spells more often and float in the air out of reach in the Volcanic region.

If you wanna farm Drakes, look for them in Vernsworth where they are much much weaker.

Get a vocation of 3 or 4 archers, give them all erupting shot and 99 explosive arrows, and make your team follow you as you pelt your shots at the boss.

At Vernsworth the highest level a enemy can be is 25 I think. Get 500 Strength to stagger often.
At Battahl, they can be as high as lv50. You need maybe 750 strength to kill them easily.
At Volcanic region they might be 75. You need about 1000 strength to kill them.

Tbf, at a low enough level there's no way you could possibly defeat one, once they become enraged they start spamming meteors than can one hit KO you. I fought one at level 25 and i tried 6 times but by the time we got it to the 2nd health bar my party was on their last bits of HP.

I think I am trying to take on a wyrm and what you're talking about may be a dragon, I wasn't sure until u said that. I drop it at like 2 health bars and it just flies off, I tried destroying its wings but it escapes too fast maybe because I lower it too fast.
