Dragonsplague & Hired Pawns question

Is it pretty easy to tell that they have it if you know about it/know what to look for?

Firstly, when I hire a pawn, I take them to a tunnel or some shop (so it's dark) in the city and check for glowing eyes. But I still worry.

Pretty much all of the time the pawns talk their loyalty and dedication to you. I've never heard a line of disobedience. So I assume it's safe to say if there was even one slightly off remark from them, they have it? Will they show obedience some times even if they have it.

I also read that they won't fully obey commands all of the time, along with their concerning remarks. So will all of their responses show disobedient tendencies? Or will it be a mix of good and bad.

Something else I've heard to look for, an idle animation where they're clutching their head.

I'll keep an eye out for that, too. After checking their eyes in a dark area, I throw out commands for a few moments to see if anyone says anything suspicious.

I just really don't want to lose a whole town/city. And I definitely would have if I not spoiled myself into reading a topic about it. I just had the dragonsplague message pop up right when I hired a pawn. I dismissed it while still in the Rift. Had I now known, I would have traveled with her and slept at an inn somewhere.

Just caught my first (technically second) infected pawn.

Best way to find out fast lets me look for two symptoms at the same time. Right after you hire them and leave the Rift. Take them inside a building, tunnel, a shaded area, etc. so it's at least a little dark. Tell them to 'Wait' and position yourself and your camera to have their face close to the screen so you can look for the pulsing red eyes. While doing that, keep watch for them making the gesture like their head hurts.

I say "technically second" pawn because the first one gives you a message when you summon an infected pawn. Luckily I knew this before summoning them because I definitely would have slept at an Inn with them in my party.

I would not recommend using google as a search engine, use some other search engine instead.

That may be discriminatory to say, but google search engine is known for altering the results in a way that fits whatever narrative they are seeking to push.
