Hint for Elven Langauge

I don't want it directly spoiled but does anyone have a hint for learning the elves language? Does it happen over the course of the story?

Only thing I've seen is "Gift one of them three days in a row". I did it for 6, and got nothing. I'd love to know this as well.

I tried the gifting strategy with one NPC walking around, didn't work. Got it to work with the innkeeper though.

The elf inn keeper can gift you the elf language scroll that your pawn can use to translate for you, if you befriend her.

giving an Elf a valuable item like a Jasper, Onyx or Tiger's Eye gives more affinity to the recipient
alternatively i can point you towards an Elf in Vermund who's looking at bows
there's also the Bunch of Flowers (an item) as an option
so long as it's the Bunch of Flowers, or other valuable item, it WILL be 3 days in a row
