anyway to improve performance? getting 20 fps on a RTX 3090
title explains it all I want to enjoy the game but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ some sections are just way to laggy and I should have no problems on a 3090.

3090 has literally nothing to do with it. People with 7800X3ds are getting over a 100 fps with a 3090 by turning off raytracing and ANY kind of upscaling at 4K and the reason is their CPU, not their GPU.

The game (and the engine) is extremely CPU intensive.

Game is CPU bound in cities. It'll use a full 8 cores if available but not more.

If you are running 6 cores or less its going to suck bad, regardless of what GPU you are running.

Yeah, wait for a patch or get a new cpu. I have a 4070ti and get over 100fps. It is the cpu that matters here.
Gillium Mar 25, 2024 @ 3:52pm
Not really, no. The issue isn't your GPU but the way the game utilizes the CPU. Some people have suggested overclocking your CPU or using a certain DLSS mod to alleviate the issue (or at least how noticeable it is), but the underlying problem will remain until Capcom provides us with a performance patch.

use the dlss 3.6 and frame gen from nexusmod, disable ray tracing and set shadows to middle, im getting 60fps (capped) constantly:steamfacepalm:

20 is a bit low, what's your CPU. If it's an old one it's going to have issues.

Unfortunately, the performance issues are tied to CPU load. NPCs are burdening CPU usage, so even though you have an insane GPU, it's your CPU that is being put under strain from Capcom's mistakes.

wasn't using ray tracing but I guess I'll try that and I have a good cpu as well.

Most performances issues are CPU bound (https://youtu.be/twEERkUyAXE?t=616). One way to fix it atm is to refund but there's maybe a performance patch on Nexus already?

I got 3060 and got 40fps in cities cuz of cpu

Not sure if it'll help performance, but I updated my bios to a version that was 2 years newer and it completely fixed my constant crashes. the game MIGHT run a bit better, but it's still kinda meh. i feel like it's less choppy but the FPS still isn't amazing in certain spots.

Gamers Nexus tried it with the fastest 8 core consumer CPU's currently available.

In the cities everyone is getting hitching to some degree. It is obviously worse on older CPU's and CPU's with less then 8 cores.

Until we get a patch you won't be able to get it running buttery smooth in the cities regardless what graphics settings you play with.

how are your performance is so bad? are you playing in 4k? my 6800xt full ultra with ray tracing 70fps fields 40fps towns
Shift Mar 25, 2024 @ 4:00pm
This game uses too much CPU for it's own good. Check the reviews, it doesn't matter if you use a 3050 or a 4090, you won't get any more frames if using the same CPU. Capcom dropped the ball here by making the CPU carry most of the load while the GPU is just twiddling thumbs.
