There is another way to get that quest done...you can meet a harlot at night when running around the area outside the castle and then go from there.

are you attempting all this in the evening? Make sure to do it at night.

I had the same problem as you, just do the other related quest, you'll arrive to other quests where you have to infiltrate in to the palace.
Then you will have to escape from it and you will meet a lady who will give you something wich will help you to end that "dance party" quest

Do it at night. Wear the mask and noble clothing. Go to the secret door and pass through it.

i tried another night and this time the door opened but then i overrun and fall fall behind the wall^^ i found here a blue stone but i think i need to use it because i cannot get back where i was...
