I want to start over.
I did not make some horrible mistake or have some soft locking bug happen. I just want start a new character, and start from scratch, i want to start as a archer instead of a fighter, i want to make a fresh archer looking arisen instead of my fighter looking arisen.

I know i can alter the way my character looks at any time, but there is something special about a fresh start. So i'm waiting on the update that allows a new game option.

I also want to see how the game differs if playing as a beastren instead of a human.

New Game Patch is on the way and will be applied soon.

Why wasn't it in the game at launch?

Shut up. It was Itsuno-san's vision.

Alright if that is what you need go for it but do know the level cap is 999 soo. You can play any vocation whenever you want and still get enough stats for it, if that remotely matters for you. So all you want is starting with nothing and building it up again i get that it's a good feeling but fades pretty quick.
Bro, being able to start a new game is a very basic fundamental of video game design. The fact we're even having this conversation is absolutely ridiculous.

Change both the class and appearance in game without starting over. Come on, man.

If you don't know enough about computers to find and delete a save file, then try this:

https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/65?tab=files

Kids these days.

I am morally opposed to nexus mods due to their practice on censorship.

Yea but something i can just not grasp i never replay games( or movies) so this thought is alien to me maybe it's that.

Without disabling cloud save deleting the .bin file you can't yet.

When you play through and defeat the dragon, (main story focused is not that long - maybe 20 hours) you are given a choice to start over with current level and items (items get sent to the storage at inn).

you can delete your save file and start over. those rumors of being soft banned from online play are not true. i did it and it's fine. lots of other youtube folks have too like Rurikhan and Fighting Cowboy.

Makes sense, i love doing a fresh play through on games myself. But i do understand what you are saying as i know people that are that same way.

You can become an archer at any time... in fact, the game wants you to cycle through vocations. There is no point in starting over just to play as an archer. You can also change your appearance in-game. Get an 'Art of Metamorphosis' in Vernworth, Pawn Guild vendor.

Well tough luck, the lead designer doesn't want you to play the game in a way you enjoy, he wants you to play it his way, no matter what you feel. The developers think you're nothing at best and dirt at worst.

That said, you can mod the game to treat you like a human rather than a commodity to be managed and manipulated.

Should you have to? Absolutely not. But it is what it is.

You know that most games are designed to 'play' them in the way that was intended by the game designer, right? Having said that - Dragon's Dogma 2 offers more player agency and freedom than 90% of AAA releases.

Then wait for a patch? People have told you to get the mod, others said delete your files. You said you won't do either. I think you answered this one yourself.

Just delete your save file on your PC and then restart the game... it´s as simple as that :)

You just need to disable cloud saves in your steam settings or else it will use that save automatically.

As i stated before, i heard rumor that the denuvo anti tamper can ban you if you do that. So i will stick to the side of caution.

It didn't for me. I have done it twice.

It is a real thread, and i cannot get the gold that i have spent back to re-gear, i am not that far in the game so starting over is not a big deal to me.

I also want to mark the location of my first seeker token to make that certain quest easily doable, I want to not buy that archistaff for my pawn so i could buy the one in the elf village instead.
Kaynos Mar 25, 2024 @ 2:35pm
I started over 3 times already, you need to turn off cloud save in the settings of the steam client then delete your save at : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\2054970

Something about deleting your save files that are stored somewhere on your PC, and it allows you to restart fresh. Look it up its out there somewhere.

I would not recommend that as i had heard rumor that the anti tamper will effect you if you do that.
This is not true. As long as you do it as its described for the steam version your ok.....ive done this 3 times so far because i wanted to change my Prime Pawn
