Pawn won't cast Anodyne
Hey folks, one of the pawns in my party has anodyne to heal us a mage.
They refuse to cast it. Normally I just call for help when I'm not full hp and they'll cast it but they won't right now.
I understand the difference between heal-able HP and not. My bar has the grey background and could be healed up with curatives
Every pawn in my party is around 50% hp and is able to be healed up to 90+%.... but the mage refuses to cast Anodyne.... any idea why?

No matter how many times I do "Help!" my mage just stares at me.

Might be that you pawn has Dragonsplague, which makes the pawn refuse to obey commands. Otherwise, their inclination is probably affecting whether or not they use the spell.

yup..
to op, id just go send that pawn back to the rift and get a different one.
Remember the signs your own pawn will talk about every time you come back from the rift.

It is to be infected right? How do I tell? Quick google says red eyes... none of them have red eyes. None complain of headaches or are wiping their forehead.
All of them respond when I do "To me!" and come over to where I am

The pawns aren't quite that stupid in this one, I've noticed... It's just a matter of inclination or Dragonsplaque. I haven't had any problems with any of the pawns I've used, but I know there are inclinations that make the pawns focus more on specific things over following commands. Dragonsplague, as mentioned, is problematic as well, because it makes pawns stop obeying commands, similar to how if you were fighting a drake or the dragon in the first one, it could possess your pawns and make them attack you. Except, this one comes at the expense of nuking cities if you don't notice a pawn has been infected, instead of attacking you

The first signs of infection is that pawns will refuse to obey commands like "Help" or "Come to me", etc.

I am utterly confused. I clearly see on the Wiki that Anodyne is a core skill for mages, available from the start. My main pawn is a mage, but I don't see anodyne anywhere. She has never casted it, I don't see it on any menu in the vocation guild. I don't know what I'm missing here

Does the pawn have the "Kindhearted" inclination?

When you go to an inn or camp the plague can also switch to a different pawn, which resets the plague boom timer. It may also just progress too. You can also be unlucky and have multiple dragon plague infected pawns on your team including your own pawn. The eyes are a pretty good way to check. Besides turning red sometimes you will see little flashes of red until they turn bright red. As it progresses they will start being more and more negative as they speak and talk of power and also ignore commands sometimes. One of the pawn inclinations can give false positives though, I think Straightforward inclination sometimes are mistaken for dragon plague because they are matter of fact talking.
During idle animations they may also look like having headache, sometimes even sitting down.

For an xbox controller its usually Y on the controller while your extra spells are holding R1 and then a button I think.

Anodyne isn't an equipable skill, it's their class ability.

Edit: Derp, it's their heavy attack, their class ability is the faster casting for stamina thing.
