Are Mage/Sorcerer pawns not desireable?
EDIT:
Have a look if you have got a moment and let me know what ought to be changed.
NQQ3QWLGVIF1

I believe she is currently set as a Lv.25 or 26 Mage by my last inn save.

---

I've been bumbling around in the early game. Completed a few quests and have been mostly wandering around.

I'm at about Lv20 or Lv21 by now.

I haven't seen any evidence that my pawn has ever once been hired by another Arisen.
She doesn't say anything after resting at an inn like in the first game.

I have been keeping her focused on Mage. I only started on Sorcerer once I found some glowing, flaming archstaff as loot from some kind of boss skeleton.

Do people not hire casters? Or am I just unlucky?

After the intro preset quest, you have to put up the reward yourself. There are many players selecting the "give my pawn a golden bug" quest with the reward only being like 300 gold. So if you do the quest, you're trading a limited quantity item that permanently increases your carry weight for practically nothing in return.
That a real quest? I thought it was "find a Golden Bug" or something? There's really a quest that just says "give me free stuff"? o_o

No1 likes rogues im sure cause too squish for an ai to use i would think thats my guess,
Nah, Thief pawns are actually legit. I don't know if they get hired, but I hired one and he was pretty hardcore. Used the grappling hook to topple every boss and spammed Helm Splitter, damage was off the charts. Later I hired a Capcom one that had whatever thieving passive Thief has, and I got a ton of free extra stuff. Thief pawns are fantastic.
My pawn is a Thief and he wrecks stuff. I switch between Archer and Fighter, but when I'm Fighter he's quick to get springboarded onto the monster and stabs away, usually being quick to topple it and then using the slicing ability on it's weak spot

The "receive X item" quests aren't just to find the item, they're to gift that item to the pawn.

My pawn is a thief. Got to about lvl 10 with no one using her. Then I put a thong on her and the next day, I had like 30 gifts and several quest completes.

Lowkey, the key is the Thong.

Yeah, half naked busty athletic cat girl Archer who can still carry a decent chunk, mixed with some thief levels for the passives, add in decent upgraded gear and she gets hired a bunch!

The problem with mage pawns and tanks is they are what most people make themselves so are not needed as often.

As for skills, I like my mage pawns I hire to have electricity buffs and attacks they seem the most reliable for damage, I don't really care about any other buff on them, though I've just swapped to mystic spearhand so that may change as it is a lot squishier than fighter.

You set the quest yourself. You can ask for any item you've already owned and give any reward for it.

So yeah some people thought they would be smart asking for a bettle for 300 gold...

I could swear it was different, but idk. I'll have to change my pawn quest, then. I had mine set at "get a Panacea" with the reward being "2 Panacea", and out of about 10 hires no one's completed it. Maybe that's why.

Does anyone even know that's how that quest works? I can't imagine anyone's actually getting gifted trove bugs.

They are very desirable, but thats also why you might not get hired much. Competition is high right. Also, when i hire mage and sorc pawns, i look at specific spells and magick to see if they are good enough. They can be either good or quite bad. So if you really arent getting hired, improve them and see if it helps

Last game my main pawn was mage this time I use a Warrior. Which has been hired a few times. Think mostly depends if they look cool or attractive. If using a male probably have alot harder time. Since more of a feminine looking class with robes. So more are likely inclined to use them more as woman.

yeah, pretty much this. I hired mage pawns from level 5 through 60. Not once did i not have one with me since their buffs and heals come in clutch.

I'm sure it's not working as well now that people know what the bugs are for. But in the first couple days people were able to get some.

Regarding your Panacea quest, the way you describe it means that someone would have to give your pawn a Panacea, but would get 2 as a reward that you offered. Meaning they'd be up by 1 and you'd be down by 1. Which is fine, and is actually a good benefit to the other player and reason to use your pawn. I just don't think a lot of people understand that they need to gift the item to the pawn.

My Mage is hired a lot. Make sure to add a trait, good gear and done. If anyone looking for a chill healer: Zagreus

I run a warrior, thief, sorc, and mage. So yah, I like em :)

My pawn is also a mage with healing/support spells and doesn't get hired I think. But I was today years old when I learned that you have to rest at the inn to update them. I haven't done that outside of the tutorial yet. I should probably do that.

My mage gets hired at a modest rate. I had her run as a fighter to vocation six for the extra defense and carry weight augments. They never got hired once as a fighter.

As a mage her skills are palladium, ice boon, Empyrean, and high Levin. I make sure she has good defense and health as I often go out with just my main pawn and hire/dismiss whatever pawns I see walking around as I need them.

If I dropped high Levin for halidom or the speed spell I'd probably get more rentals on her but I need her to have a good attack spell. Empyrean is great vs undead but is low DPS cuz theyvare unlikely to recast till the light effect wears off. It's really great how it lights up the night battles.
