Spellbound quest - Accidentally killed Trysha
So I got to the final stage of the quest and thought I had to kill her to calm her down. Yeah that didn't work. I didn't realise I didn't have a wakestone either so I figured she would just show up at the morgue... only she never did. The quest is just over now and the Grandma still talks like she is alive and I've come to visit. I got her ring and 3000. I figured i would rest to pass the time so inn save is out of the question.

Is that the end of the quest and I just screwed myself? Did I just miss out on the spell because of a brain fart moment? Does the ring actually DO anything at least?

I pressed Alt+F4 when I accidentally killed Trysha :-D Then I properly subdued her by grabbing her when she was exhausted. I don't think the ring you get does anything important, never used it either after reading the description. The more important thing tp consider is that the Sorcery Maister requires basicallly the same spell books Trysha wants... and while you can find additional copies in the world here and there I am not sure if you can find duplicates for ALL, so it's advised to create forgeries of the books, give the Sorcery Maister the forgeries and Trysha the real books. But if you do not go to Rest Town first and meet the Maister there you will never even know about it and give Trysha the books... you then need all over again.

You screwed yourself. You probably missed two spells, maybe 3. (two sorcerer one mage)

Happy NG+

This game has a robust and some might say dumb quest system where you can't really fail anything as long as you have wakestones. Seriously.

I was doing a quest in Battahl, helping an elf fix their tree, and we had to collect some taff in a cave, well I used Ricochet Hunter to destroy all of the bugs and boxes in the cave to make finding it easier and it annihilated the elf as well, but I didn't realise at first. Quest just completely went to wank, but then when I realised what I'd done I just waited and found her in the morgue and resurrected her and she was instantly back at the cave waiting outside.

Same with Trysha. Wolves killed Eino (or Eini, can't tell) when I first made my way to their house, and it broke the questline as Trysha would not advance and read the books until her grandma was alive again. I thought the quest was broken and killed Trysha and her grandfather about three times each in different ways, before realising and (even though Trysha and Eino / Eini hated me at that point) as soon as I resurrected the grandma who I found in the morgue accidentally when looking for someone else, when I returned to the cabin Trysha was instantly in the next phase of the quest where she went crazy with power.

This also happened to me with Sigurd who died fighting the Lesser Dragon and also Fulvio the Sculptor who managed to get himself killed by the Griffin somehow.

Basically, you shouldn't be able to bollocks up a quest. Just revive the critical NPC and they should instantly be back where they need to be.

Unless it's a timed quest anyway. Which are rare anyway. If NPCs die because of that kind of stuff (I.E eaten by wolves) then it's over for them (but you can still "complete" the quest anyway lol.)

You know what, I didn't even properly read your post. My bad.

Yeah it sounds like you're screwed. Better luck next time in NG+ lol :steamsad:

Keep checking the morgues every now and then. You never know, she might turn up in there. Be sure to ask the attendant (5000G) to find a body as well, you never know, I swear I had to do this to find Fulvio and have him show up because he wasn't in there when I looked myself.

You can wear it and that sorcerer guy in Checkpoint Town will react to it, which will cause him to assume that you're a friend of Trysha and he will agree to help teach you his Meisters Art after ruminating for a day. Be sure to wear noble clothing when you go to meet with him though.

Not sure if that'll still work if Trysha is dead but I mean, it sounds like the game thinks she's alive and you never see him interact with her in any way, so it'll probably be fine.

You'll be able to get his Meister skill anyway, which is Maelstrom I believe. Although I think he might also need to see that you've learned Meteora from Trysha first, I dunno.
