Do I lose a lot during changing the class?
Hi,

I'm 26lvl sorc, but planning to switch to something close-combat. The character can be weak because of levels from sorc and low strenght, or it doesnt matter and I can play all classes at once?

I wanna test all of them but the save gives only one slot.

The level up system is different from Dark arisen, It doesn't matter if you change your vocation mid way because It doesn't affect any stats when you level up.

Yes you can try every vocation without worry

Just switch. It's fine. You can always go back if you want man.
You dont lose anything from your other class if you want to go back.

As far as we know, is untrue, There are some baseline stats, that depend on vocation and permanent stats you gain upon leveling. Going from sorc to physical will have less strength, health and defense than going from warrior to other physical class.

They made the baseline thing so the change will not brick your character, but you will perform a bit worse. Not a deal breaker and for min-maxers, there's a hard cap on stats anyways.

A single forging on a single piece of gear pretty much seems to negate the smol difference so unless you're OCD min/maxer "try every vocation without worry" seems to be true.

PS You can have as many save slots as you are willing to swap out save files (it's just 5 files per Arisen)

The difference is ... at level 30, 717 vs 712 HP. That's it. Magick maybe... 452 vs 446. Heck I may have made an error or something too and it's probably smaller than that. I'm definitely not doing my usual 1-10 mage, 11-200 sorcie, everything else... then Magick Archer min/max.

Meanwhile... I think your pawn's eyes are glowing and she needs a bath. And more clothes.

for example my pawn is pure warrior and he has double the strenght I have

DD1 was all about OCD min/maxxing - if its true then the similar but less punishing stat growth persists in dd2

Dragon's Dogma 2 does not feature vocation-fixed leveling. Instead, players can swap between vocations at any time and the stats of their characters will adapt to match the new vocation.

Nah, you still get permanent stats upon leveling under a vocation, but there are some baseline stats that get adjusted as soon as you change vocation, so you don't brick your character leveling one way or another. Also there's a cap on stats very late/post game to avoid min-maxing paranoia.
