Spoilers Discussion
So I want to frame this discussion mainly around the Doomed World. Lot of my friends haven't hit this section of the game, though I got there my second time now (I binged),

As I am looking here on my newest and latest visit to the apocalypse, I am wondering about what Pathfinder is talking about, seeking answers. The three big time quests we get here are focused on Battahl, to get your pawn and the dragon relic Red beam of doom, Talking to the 3 kingdoms to evacuate them, and the little taskers there in. Sure this sounds fine and all, but it ends on a somber note with my poor Gottfried turning into a black dragon and against fate. But there are a lot more questions I have.

To begin, I am noticing these quests feel like misnomers. Yes the evacs, pawn, and 4 boss fights matter, but Pathfinder and Grigori both refer to how we might possibly break against fate, with both taking different stances. Rothais also hints at his own attempts to do so, while Grigori references how we are mislead and guided into a preordained fate or can break the cycle.

But what happens? The world is dying. But Pathfinder hasnt turned on us, urging us to explore. Now, in my first run, I did the quests, and it was sadly pointless since all was destroyed. So now my 2nd run, saved currently at the bare beginning of the Doomed World segment, I am wondering if I should turn my attention elsewhere.

I have observed a few things. One, the Pawns refer to the bosses almost like Living Brine. In games as a art media, colors mean a lot of things. The consistent color of Red skin and deep purple is very exclusive to the Brine, which strangely attack any Human or beastren, both this game and DD1, but don't seem to stop Fish. We also see just how omnipresent this Monster is as a swarm in DD2's cutscenes in the Legacy quest. The corrupted dragon during my battle with it also got referred to as Brine, and it's fire attacks also can spawn large Brine tentacles. It's almost like Brine is itself the Destroyer, or a Rot.

So to number it

1. Grigori in this game is a physicalized manifestation of the Will of Oblivion. yet it wants the cycle ended.

2. The Great Will was once benevolent but something changed, leading it to institute the cycle of the Dragon's Dogma. When it withdraws it's hand, the world dies horribly. Yet to facilitate this, it took the idea, the conceptual Oblivion of these worlds, and made the Dragon as a physicalized form of it. Niether good or evil, though Pathfinder tries to say otherwise.

3. The Brine is curiously involved in this process. Previously a aquatic monster, it always seemed strange how downright lethal it was. But in DD2, we very directly observe it involved in the forms of Wyrms and Dragons. And it's powerful. It also all began when the Water was sent skyward, where on the red clouds of Oblivion are formed of the same Color format of the Brine. There is a heavy connection here, but I don't know what. The Brine is way too present to make sense as a true living creature, unlike goblins or ogres and so on. Chances are game encounters are high more for sake of play then true lore.

4. Pathfinder's Suggestion - This might be the most important tidbit which prompted me to start this thread. I decided to listen to the Dragon for a bit. He is constantly warning us about how we are preordained, to take another path and break from the cycle. How if we do not see this, we are a fool. Unlike DD1, we are not sent to become Seneschels, though we know at one point Rothias once was. And Pathfinder implies we too could become -a- Seneschel, only to refuse him outright, making me think Pathfinder either is the Great Will, or a proxy of it. His name might be the clue. On dumping us into the Doomed world, he tells us to hurry as the world is going to end for sure, no questions asked, and the clouds do indeed move towards the Seaside shrine. For Rothias' power, he could provide no sanctuary. or...could he?

I am of the opinion there is something else hidden in the Doomed World that is not lead to by quests. We are asked how we might endure, unprotected. So by reason, we somehow must contest the Great Will, and raise a new protection. Or become seneschel. Now my first run ended because I didn't know about the Doomed World having a actual time limit. So I want to try and approach this more methodically and compare notes with you guys to see what you all may have uncovered.

I am certain there is a hidden quest here.
