there are random "let me journey with you" quests where people show up at your door after certain affinity levels, it's unrelated
That's like the only place i ever saw him before the dragon.
He has his house on the far right of town.
And once you're at the dragon, walk up the stairs from the bonfire.. That will spawn him with a cutscene.
yeah that's not why.
how about stop looking at guides that mislead you and play the game?
the answer is real simple: you haven't unlocked the quest that makes him go to the tower. HERP DERP
how would you even know that sigurd was there, oh you looked at some goofy guide and it misled you.
yes, there is a prereq, it's the quest that says go to sigurd at the tower.
so here's a little fun fact for you so you can stop being a ♥♥♥♥ to people. I killed the dragon in melve, met him in harve and got all the way to the quest your referring too in which you need to go collect wyrmheart crystal. Fun fact if you have enough on you it just skips that part and keeps sigurd locked and broken. The games buggy and Sigurd questline is clearly the buggiest. Guides exist nowadays. dont be a ♥♥♥♥ because someone saw something cool and followed a guide to get it when the IT is hella buggy and easily breakable.
If you can't get him to give the scroll I would try gifting Sigurd stuff he likes, just remember you can only gift once per day, then you need to go rest or camp for a day and go back. My theory is without the final quest you go with him on his affinity isn't high enough to give you the scroll automatically, and some people would gift him a dozen times in the same day, but mass gifting doesn't work so it looks like it failed.
When I first arrived at Dragonsbreath Tower, Sigurd showed up to help. Although, I decided to ferry back to town prior to killing the dragon with Sigurd, and to my avail: he was not showing back up to help.
So, I decided to place portcrystal down below the dragon, ferried to Harve, grabbed Sigurd, ferried back, and got Sigurd to fight the dragon with me. To my surprise, he gave me his maister skill afterwards.
He wasn't "following" me (yellow marker on minimap, similar to escort missions), but it still counted. I am not sure if this works if he dies in the battle with the dragon, though. It would be ideal to do a inn save prior to attempting in case he does die.
BLESS YOU. Same exact situation but no one was covering what happens if you start with Sigurd, leave and lose him when you return. I fully expected him to remain at the fireplace where I fast travelled.
For more specifics: I had to carry him almost to the first floor stairs of the tower. On the bridge he just turns around and starts walking back to the entrance; but once inside the tour he jumps out of your arms and runs lightning fast to face the dragon at the top.
Greet him after the battle; it will be slightly glitchy giving only his usual question tree, but after you ask both questions he will transition on his own to new dialogue and give you the maister skill.
Come on dude even if he did see a guide why would you have a go at him for that? Or is your problem he used a guide therefore he should not post questions on a steam public forum?
