Tolled to rest bugged?

Has anyone encountered a bug with this quest where the guy you're following will disappear?

As I was following him I noticed a dragon fighting a cyclops. Then noticed a ballista up on the castle so I went and used it to kill the dragon. Quickly ran down to get the loot then when I went to go find the guy I was meant to follow he's disappeared.

I went to the area marked on the map which brought me to another cyclops. I killed him but the guys nowhere near to be found.

The same happened to me, the guy you are supposed to scort, most likely died with the dragon . For some reason the mission doesn't end when he dies. You will need to use a wakeStone to revivie him in order to complete the mission. The most complicated stuff might be finding the guys body.

If you start a quest / mission its better for you to finish it before doing anything else, even if its something you encounter along the way because everything from world to time affects quests and NPC's. If he really died you should be able to find him at the morgue in the city.

Happened to me, but try checking on the eastern entrance to the Ancient Battleground he might respawn there. Alternatively he could have died somewhere and his body could be back in the morgue.

Just go back here you found him, apparently he resets in some part of that battleground

He definitely doesn't reset! And what morgue would be at? It has been almost a week since I mistakenly accepted the quest and ignored it or he died...I don't even remember. But I have went back searched all over for him and nothing.
