How long will Beren escort us in the desert area?
I come to the location where map has orange-red color. I met sir Beren. (the lion guard) who offer to have a cup of sea and escort us during the Cart raid incident. But I have raid their hideout and capture a kid. But Beren never leave my party. he continue journey with me, die from fighting two golem. we walked into new tavern, and he still not leave my party.

How long will he stay? I am afriad when he die, I need to keep using wakestone on him.

Just chuck him in the brine few times, dunno if the second time mattered or because of where it happened, if it was because of where, then guess my quest completed because he respawned where he needed to arrive.
I got a quest auto completed that way and the follower left me, the first quest where a someone wants to escort me into the castle, half a map away.

Hi. This happens after he quit his soldier job and we met him in his own hometown, then he is happy to escort us. but then there is no any quest check mark for him. Almost like a 5th member now.

Considering peeps carry random pawns on their back as an extra fighter into tough battles, you are even better off then. I mean it doesn't hurt having him. Imagine if you get your beloved to behave the same way.
Anyways try the brine, if that doesn't work, try death from falling aka you throw him off a cliff, and save before reviving him aka wasting a wakestone on him, if he still follows you after reviving him, then just leave him dead, he ends up in the morgue anyway, where you can revive everyone at some point with an eternal wakestone.
