How annoying are the low fps in the cities overall?
maybe for the people farther into the game:
is this game like 1% city 99% countryside or is there major stuff happening in the cities (and low fps) that really kill the experience (down to unplayable?)

I Pre-ordered the game but realized VERT quickly that this game is very far from complete (optimization wise). So, uninstalled it. I'm gonna wait 2-3 months and HOPE the patches will have done it's work. If not, tough luck, because the game is TOO good I won't wait any longer than that :P

i5-6500
1070
16 gb ram

30-40 fps in the wild, but 20-25 fps in the main city.

My PC is way worse than the listed minimum specs for the game though, so it actually runs surprisingly well on my toaster.

the fact that you guys with way more powerful rigs are running at similar fps is insane though.

3070Ti
32GB ram

I spend most my time away from the cities so I barely notice it, but when I am in cities, it's not unplayable, just kind of irritating. I notice more of a slow-motion than a drop in FPS personally.

3060ti here.

I noticed the same thing...it's like my character is running through molasses while in the city.

It's incredibly irritating. Outside the city it runs like a dream though...70+ FPS.

I feel like half these comments are just fanboys or someshit,
11th gen i9
RTX 4080
32gb Ram
very rarely get 60 frames out of city, drops between 60-35
In city i get between 20-30
this is on max settings, which really shouldnt have to be on anything else when it runs games bigger/more graphically pleasing at a solid 120 lol
optimisation/performance is poor
Good game tho

I turned off RTX, Motion Blur, Bloom and using the default low foliage and getting 60 FPS no issue everywhere including the city with a 4070Ti and an i7 13700KF. There is a slight FPS drop during world transitions though that give a stutter that can drop to 45 FPS for a split second.

extremely annoying, its a constant fluctuation between 30-70 fps and it never stabilizes.

You know, it may be that your PC has an issue, I mean it's clearly not normal to have so bad FPS on that rig.

I play in OLED 4K
I7 12700K
4070TI
32Gb Ram
SSD

I have 60 FPS stable out of cities
45-50 FPS in the first big city.

Saying other games work well means nothing, games are different and use your computer differently.
I mean people are quick to jump on other calling them fanboys or whatever, your PC clearly has an issue if you have that bad FPS and I have betrter FPS with a worser setup.

I'll give it a try, but considering i put everything on the lowest settings and stiill got pretty much the same result im unsure

turning everything down to low will not help because the issue is cpu related, so that would potentially increase cpu load which will exacerbate the issue.

the game's issues are cpu optimization right now as its extremely cpu heavy and bottlenecked.

Deffo the game brother, i literally play games like God of War, Arma 3, The Last of Us, Enshrouded, nightinggale and have zero issues, 2 being early access, with solid frames and no drops

Funny thing for me the game runs better without FSR or using anything that changes resolution. I just leave everything native and it runs best. In the city I get drops to 40 but it goes back up to 60 and down again. I have resolution scale in the middle at 1080p which is native resolution.
6750xt/3800xt/32gbram at 3733/and on a ssd, mx500.
Ultra settings with shadows and geometry medium.

Yurppp just saying the game deffo has issues and nothing makes a difference, ive tried a few things but still runs like ♥♥♥♥, when running the game CPU is only sitting at around 60% tbf but i see they said its an issue

its pretty jarring the first time, dont even notice it now. get ~50-65 fps in avernus.
