How do you feel about the removal of secondary weapons?
A question more for the folks who played DD1/DD:DA

I'm just kinda curious to know what people think of only having one weapon set now instead of two.

My personal take is that I thought it'd bother me more than it has. Having less skills available at any one time means you actually have to chose what you take instead of bringing everything. While also cutting down on button presses.

Although I'm sure Warrior players from the first game are amused.

I played the warrior most in DD:DA so I actually have one more skill than I usually did :praisesun:

It makes most of the game hard to solo unless you get to the hybrid classes.

Feels weird at first, but with how a lot of skills are redistributed as core skills, it kinda make up for the loss of the second weapon for me.
Archer's jump kick is a nice alternative for yellow class dodge roll, which I might say even better since the jump kick launches you far away and high. The dagger being replaced with basically taekwondo kick and stomp is also a fun replacement. I also learned that the archer skills are quite fun, which is something I often neglect in the first game aside from magick archer skills

Thief just feels like how I played strider so I feel at home

I can see that. My Go to in DD1 was Mystic Knight and Magick Archer. So I unlocked Mystic Spearhand as soon as possible and haven't looked back... except for maybe a second at sorcerer. Ngl even MS was rough until I got the shield ability. Now it's hilarious as so long as the shield is up nothing can really hurt me.

I thought it would bother me, but it's actually not so bad now that I've gotten used to the idea.

It used to be six skills, 3 and 3. Now it's four skills only which is roughly 30% less skills to use. However in some cases things like anodyne have got their own button, and tusk toss is now a core skill off of the light attack charge, and how archers get their kick attack, so the 30% reduction is 'somewhat' mitigated.

All in all though I miss the power that comes from the versatility of the assassin. I'll probably end up a warfare so I can sword and bow it.

I'm not sure when I'll unlock warfarer so I'm pretty intrigued how it'll work and if you can use skills from literally any combination of vocations. I'm sure it's gonna be the new assassin with how strong it can be.

it makes warfarer unique and removes the problem of choosing magic archer because you like the dagger and bow combo -ish
now every vocation has their definite playstyle
ngl i feel the lost playing strider without bow or MA without staff but their own mechanic plus how team synergy is now is not bad at all

I wouldve been fine if they didnt remove skills for classes, especially core skills. I thought with the weapons we wouldve gotten more indepth on vocations but it seems less skills, and one new skill and then a active skill moved to core skills is just not good. Fighter actually lost a fair few skills.
