Fighting Griffins
I have not killed one yet. They always fly off. Is there something I'm missing? Am I killing them too fast?

Try to grab onto one before it flies off. ;)

Quite possibly, you might want to get mage pawns with fire spell, so they can buff your weapon and spit fires to prevent the griffin to escape

Not fast enough / bad rng / not breaking setting fire to their wings enough.

Hitting them with a ballista tower when they are flying chunks them if you get the opportunity to do so.

Really though they will try and run at low health. when they get low, just try and make sure they are on fire or broken so they cannot escape.

Bad idea, they will shake you off at a great height and then you will die. Light their wings on fire

You can focus target the wings I think? Haven't had a chance to test it, but in the first one, you always targeted the wings first of a Griffon or Dragon to ground it.

i use a great sword hit the wings and head it will make it fall over then attack the head use fire to make it freak out then attack it's wings to break them fast

They seem attracted to me lol I usually use a great sword and have a mage use fire enhance spell and I just cripple the thing. In the begging they would always fly away from me but now I destroy them.

if you haven't killed one yet i don't think the problem is your killing them too fast you know. because you haven't killed one yet

I rode a griffin back to its nest, if you get on their back you don't need to hold on the whole flight. So you just stand on its back and get full stamina. Figuring out that works in regular fights as well helps a lot. Most monsters have a point you can stand on without holding and just wail on them.

weak to fire deblitations and will not run away if you broke the wings , or once it start the "im running animation" use "get over here" or fighter taunt abilities , warping to head and bashing em before you reach certain height work too

even better inflict it with torpor

So if you start a fight with a griffin, and you are not able to finish it before they take off, they WILL come back at an opportune time. Such as when you are fighting group of hobgoblins or a Golem. This happens to me everytime without fail if I don't defeat the griffin the first time. I have had 3 griffins do this so far. I have only been able to kill one in the first encounter by using the ranger class to great effect to keep him grounded with explosive arrows. When they come back their health will be at the same point it was when they took off.
they did this in the first game. comments are right. get archer npcs with fire or make ur weapons fire and keep attacking wings to keep it from escaping

If playing archer tarring arrow then then fire it will light them up and burn their wings preventing them from flying for a good while. Keep repeating when fire goes out.
