Exclamation mark quest icons
Are these triggered quest icons supposed to disappear once you find SOMETHING in the surrounding area or room you are? I found a chest after the pawn mentioned not ignoring somehting, but the quest mark icon did not disappear and there is nothing else to be fouund around. i am confused and spending too much time trying

They're not quest icons, they happen when your pawn points something out. And no they don't go away afterward.

You're spending too much time on it

This has happened to me repeatedly and you can usually just ignore it like them pointing out a chest you already looted and still having the icon for it

The 'gathering' marking did get removed instantly after you picked up the materials, but somehow the opened chests did not, which I find it inconsistency.

The ! are just a "Point of interest" that your Pawn has pointed out to you, usually it's a ladder or a note you can read.

There is nothing that indicates someone have a quest, except talking to them and finding out :)

If you're the one opening the chest, the icon goes away. If it's one of your pawns who opens the chest, the icon remains for w/e reason.

Hmm, I vividly remember being the one who opened the chests several times, but the markings were still there.
I will test it again, just to be sure next time.
