In the original you had a chair you could sit them down in and have a nice chat about how it would be preferable for them to shut up on the road.

Not actually sure if that exists here. Though I suppose pawns being repetitive and annoying is part of the classic experience.

theres a volume option for pawn voice you can put to zero, but youll still see their subtitles

the answer to most of the people who post stuff like this is "No." They find it annoying while the rest of us find it nostalgic of the first release.

Under Settings → Sound, you'll find a slider for Pawn Voices. Try turning that off, see if it does the trick for you.

Amusingly it seems there is a specialization that makes them mostly mute. But honestly them rambling on about ladders, and explaining ingredients is meme worthy.
