Is Sorcerer ONLY good when you get access to his really good spells? None of the stuff he starts with seems to do any damage to anyone, but maybe I just need a better staff...? The burn proc does more damage than my fire, I don't get it.
And I was complaining about Archer, geez. Sorc has even less mobility than Archer does.
it will ragdoll them away unless its a big boi. This gives you more time to cast a big spell.
I used lighting set for main attack because ogres are weak to it, and most enemies can get hit pretty hard by it, especially if its raining or near water.
I didn't like the ice spells because my vision tended to be blocked but when you unlock the aoe ice globe use that because it slows everything down, assuming you took the sorcerer augment of applying debuffs.
the last two slots depend on what you want to do earthquake is ok but flare is amazing, maelstrom is so so.
You will need at least a level 1 upgraded lord lightning staff from the elf village to start seeing you pierce defenses on big enemies.
It's a good idea to dip into Fighter and Warrior as well for nice defensive passives. Warrior you only need vocation level 2 I believe, for HP.
Sorcerer is always good, but it's the glass cannon DPS version of Mage, so yeah, it'll shine with more vocation ranks. Doesn't take that long though.
Get a pawn that's Fighter with shield summons or a warrior with the aggro trait and you should be fine. The game's incredibly easy with 3 pawns, unless you're soloing, then I'd say Sorc is probably the worst vocation for it, but I'd imagine it could also be the best if you super plan, are super careful and super exploit as much as you can (like with levitate). Sorc can DELETE groups easily.
Sorcerer doesn't start with any nukes. Apparently Flare is good? What level does it unlock?
It sounds like he's just a debuff-bot until he unlocks something better. That doesn't seem right.
Also, consider bringing a mage pawn with palladium, they seem pretty reliable with using it and it's a perfect combo for a sorc's long cast times.
Mage and sorc both have levitate, which is really good for just sliding right out of the way of a lot of attacks. You really just need to get used to not attacking until you're safe, and if you're not safe, levitating somewhere that is.
All jobs start with low offense and you work your way up, most rpgs i know with mages/wizards, etc, all start weak and low damage untill you level. elden ring also does this with casters.
However. you CAN get the master level spells very early, but it will require someone to gift them to you.
But regardless, i am melting most things as i actually know how to play sorcerer. most people claiming it's bad are trying to play it like a melee or casting in the enemies face and wonder why they can't finish a spell, or in general doesn't know how to take advantage of weaknesses
I couldn't agree more. I tried every single vocation and I am currently at level 60 and sorc was HANDS DOWN the worst experience. Glass cannon without the cannon.
They do, none of their spells are "useless" try not casting fire spells on fire resistant enemies. i've had no issues making quick work of enemies.
You can also try using a good weapon, Not the weapon you started with at high levels.
This is 100% a skill issue. Flare, for example is one of the most broken spells in this game, if you know how it works. Stop blaming the job it self because you have no idea what you're doing.
Sorceror is ridiculous. Died exactly once after I got it and that was because I was silenced.
What are you people doing?
Is there another spell that even comes close to that? That's a master spell, right?
Not getting the master spells, obviously. But should you need master spells to be competitive?
Making use of elemental weaknesses and having an aggressive tank is key.
