Half of the map is just ocean, that you can't even swim in.

This game is more of a collection of corridors rather than a real open world.

Some people also complained that RDR2 map is very small. Then they actually played the game.

Play "starfield" for that mate. *eyeroll
The entire world map is just canyon corridors. Like, it's just one big road. Starflop made more $ and has more players than this slop by the way. Is that why you're seething about it?

the map is giant, going from one town to the next takes long enough. thank goodness for the oxcart system.
The playable area is barely bigger than DD1, most of the map is water you can't swim in and mountains you can't climb blocked off by terrain and invisible walls.

4 Times bigger when it's just linear paths mostly or just death zone water doesn't really count.

It's also 4 times the size of a game from 2012.

Other RPG maps like Elden RIng overshadow this in size- and you can actually go anywhere on those ones, it isn't just linear paths only.

Would be fine, but again this game charges more implying they feel it's bigger/better/worth more, and it's not.

Does my memory playing tricks or it's hardly 2 times of a White Orchard starting zone in Witcher 3?

It'd be super tight if developers would stop saying "it's huge" as a selling point.

You know who did that? Starfield. Looks like that turned out really well. I think it's a consensus among gamers that packing a lot into a small space is much more intriguing than packing a little into a large space. DD2 occasionally treats you to some interesting POIs, but for the most part I felt like I was just running constantly hoping to find something other than my 50th Cyclops fight.

Just tell us you arn't playing the game lmfao.

Just pointing something out, open world doesn't mean huge map, it just means open world.

And for the ones saying is more like a series of corridors... well if you remove the ability to take a plane (or are not a top level climber) also the real world is some sort of a series of corridors, created by limitation of movement.

Nobody show this dude the Elden Ring map.

Peoples saying it's just a bunch of corridors are either lying or have played like 3-4 hours.

Literally doesn't matter. Getting from one end of the map in Morrowind takes way more time than Skyrim. Guess which map is bigger, by a lot. Witcher 3 has Roach. Dragon's Dogma 2 has feet. And the game world is still way bigger than White Orchard.

At least in White Orchard you can go anywhere you please, you can reach your desired destination cross country and don't get stuck every 5 meters, which already makes it infinitely better, than this depressingly narrow and unnecessarily rugged maze. One look at an interactive map and it's clear that only 20% of the total area are playable.....at best. Even DDDA felt more open.

What does the OP expect for a $70 game?

And we use to call this kind of world a 'theme-park' world.
