Should I buy?

Don't care about the micro transaction fiasco and I'm usually pretty lucky with performance or work arounds.

All I want to know is how it fares against the original or recent open world RPG's like Elden ring or Cyberpunk?
I loved the original but I did find the story a bit short and the world became a little more dull after it, in example just running through the everfall with no real story to follow got old for me pretty quick.
BBI was good but that was DLC so I'm assuming this will have something similar, but as the game stands now is it much more improved?

Do NPC's feel more real? Is there more to explore? More than just 4-5 dungeons? Can I own a castle? etc etc

Well you did play DD1. DD2 is basically DD1 but with a much bigger world and way more content in it and more variety.

Not sure how long the story is, as i'm only like 19hrs in or so.

If you don't have a potato PC like the people hating on this game, than you should play it if you enjoyed DD1.

If youre looking for 1080p on 60fps on most 3070+ RTX cars. Then ya, this game is a must. Absolutely incredible on the level of detail in this game. The physics and combat are next level. Also big monsters

If you have a good PC yes if you have a garbage can no not until about month or a patch.

Did you REALLY like DD:DA?
If not, no, don't buy this. It's not for you, play something else that's more your speed.
If you did like the first game, then welcome home. At least... after the performance gets patched. It's a bit of a mess at the moment.

I would suggest you wait until it's on sale, and it has been patched a bit. Unless you're really chomping at the bit for more Dragon's Dogma, then you can afford to be patient until the game has better performance and takes less out of your wallet. That way you'll hopefully have a smoother experience, the wiki's will be more fleshed out, and you'll be happier only being out $30 if all you really want to do is mainline the story once or twice.

I would wait until they get some patches in to fix performance and the blurriness on the s creen. Give it a couple of updates then get it.

I'm after longevity, I definitely enjoyed the first one but could feel it's limitations if that makes sense, which is fine with how old it is. However I'm fussier now.
I'm not expecting BG3 levels of detail and longevity but I'm hoping the game world is more interactive this time round, as in actually build on relationships with NPC or be able to go off into the wilds and find some epic quest or sword or something.

My advice is to wait for a optimization patch and confirmation it's improved the game.

I personally didnt play DD1, I tried and... it hasnt aged well imo... BUT Ive loved my time with DD2 so far.

Performance is an issue, for sure needs a fix. MTX is something you can easily buy ingame and is being blown out of proportions imo
