Also, you can switch to something more action oriented at any time. Try being a Fighter and enjoy perfect blocking with your shield to counter enemy attacks. With the new way DD2 shifts your core stats around a bit when you change classes, it is much more forgiving to class swapping. You'll be a bit squishier and have a little less health than a straight Lv17 Fighter, but the vast majority of the stat gains are from equipment anyways. You'll be more capable and durable than a Lv17 Mage-turned-Fighter would be in the original game by any means.
Sorcerer has even less unique spells than mage so have fun lmao
Short answer? There aren't many spells, in fact they removed a TON of spell variety from the first game, AND reduced how many skills you can equip. It's incompetence running amok.
They REMOVED 40% OF SPELLS from the first game. There is NO HOLY OR DARK enchantments, attack spells etc. There are only one or two holy defense spells.
In the first game you could bind six abilities to use, in this game you CAN ONLY HAVE FOUR ABILITIES AT ONCE. Another downgrade, bravo Capcom.
They gave us almost half of the spells in the first game, AND reduced how many we can equip. It's enraging.
It's NOT just the money grubbing execs. The creatives have massively dropped the ball here as well.
Literally the only thing they improved from the first game is:
- Size of the game
- Modern graphics (but I think it's fair to say nowhere near top of the line)
- A few new monster types
Everyone at capcom, execs AND devs/creatives, should be ashamed. They had the chance to make Dragon's Dogma into a household name. Instead they spat on the legacy and the fans who've waited for over a decade.
