In defense of DD2: The problem with Capcom and the players.
Like I said in a previous post, I have not, and will not be buying this game. But the discourse around this game is kinda insane.

Predatory, and useless microtransactions have been a capcom staple going as far back as DmC4. Even in everyones favorite game last year RE4 remake, they were selling weapon upgrades as microtransactions. MHW ACTUALLY locks re customizing your character behind microtransactions, unlike this game. Capcom has been doing this for 15 years, and for 15 years you've been turning a blind eye, rewarding them with continual purchases, and barely a squeak about how bad the microtransactions are.

So in defense of DD2, you all played and LOVED RE4, and those of you who bought the microtransactions even left mostly positive reviews on it. You have no right to complain here, it's the exact same thing. You all PRAISE MHW, and yet hardly a peep about it's dlc problem. Orbs are laughed away in DmC as a non issue, because there is no reason to buy them. Well? It's the same thing here, there is no reason to buy the dlc because it's all obtainable in game. If you didn't complain about those games, you have no right to complain about them here.

It is dreadfully hypocritical to bring it up now. It is clearly just people mad about the framerates and drm, looking for anything extra to dogpile to further justify their anger. I'd bet my money that when the next MH game releases, it's magically going to no longer be a problem again. It'll go straight back to being a small minority bringing up how scummy their dlc practices are and once again being totally ignored and drowned out, because everyone else will be too busy buying, playing and enjoying that game, and Capcom will have learned nothing.

One final note however, this is not dismissing the real problems with the game. Capcom ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up this release (called it) and you all should be leaving bad reviews, and be letting your voice be heard. I do think we need to call out capcom for these microtransaction practices, It just pisses me off how for the last 15 years it's been only a small handful of voices bringing it up, being ignored by the majority of players, and the industry. And it pisses me off even more, because i just know, for the next major capcom release, it's once again going to be dismissed and forgotten about.
